I am thinking of getting a vSeeBox. Over 2000 channels. Obviously several are showing the same show during prime time, as there are well over 100 ABC/CBS/NBC/ESPN channels.

But, while I have moved to SC, I can watch the local channels/news in the town that I grew up in for 50+ years....and, when it is televised, the Football High school State Championships, etc.

ALL of my favorite sports teams games (Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, NFL).

When I did a 'Search' for vSeeBox in the TUG upper right corner....no results.

I gotta believe SOME TUGger must have it.....???

sorry, don't have it but looks interesting.
a little googling reveals the TV channels from the box may not be quite legal but ..... (remember locast)

Sounds like something that may be around for a short while before it gets shut down. There are FCC regulations against watching out-of-market local channels.

I LOVED locast. I got rid of cable after I moved and used Locast - then like 3 or 4 months later the service was kaput.

However, I think it might be a completely illegal box - you might get all the channels - like HBO, Showtime, etc.

Yea, if you're going to try and use sketchy streaming, at least don't pay money for that.

I googled it also, found it on Amazon.

Appears to be your basic android box, also appears grossly overpriced at $349. When I last looked at something similar (maybe 2 yrs ago) they were $50-$100 for the better ones.

P.S. Check the Amazon reviews on this.
Yes, it is a basic android box, but what they are really charging for is their "Heat" apps that come loaded on it. Those apps are the ones that are illegally streaming all of the content they are advertising. It says the box can also run apps from the Google store, so it is just like any other two-bit streaming box. They are just trying to get enough suckers to overpay for their streaming box before they get shut down. It may work for a month, maybe a few months. But it will definitely get shut down eventually. And looking through the review, there is a bunch of comments about the poor streaming quality. My guess is that they are just (illegally) capturing other streaming content, compressing it and rebroadcasting it through their app. They probably don't have anywhere near the required backend hardware to stream a quality product, so it is mediocre at best.
