I do know that as a business, that I'm not allowed to ask certain questions and I can't treat a person's service dog, real or fake, with any difference or bias.
Exactly the loophole which allows lots of folks to bring their pets into TS's....

They say sixty-five percent of all statistics
Are made up right there on the spot
Eighty-two-point-four percent of people believe 'em
Whether they're accurate statistics or not
Now, I don't know what you believe
But I do know there's no doubt
I need another double-shot of something ninety-proof
I got too much to think about

He is now on my schedule for some youtube meandering. Thanks
I know I have a strong opinion on this, but, thankfully, I can't remember what it is.
Go out of the country for 20 days and a thread like this has 6 pgs of comments. I root for it to be the next 1,000 comment thread.

Europe, so no HGVC involved.
Europe in August, so everyplace over-run with tourists (other than the city-to-city trains).
airbnb's chosen by my wife. The locations were awesome. Nespresso still stinks. I prefer my black Peet's to even the good espresso. In Zurich, the breakfast coffee was basically 5 shots of strong espresso. Impressive. Quite good. But still, just espresso, not distinctive.
The all-in-1 W/Ds in Europe still problematic, resulting in a dustup between my wife and the manager of the airbnb in Lisbon. (They were both wrong, but the manager much moreso.) I was a fly on the wall other than having advised my wife early to not trust the thing so much. She did not listen.)
Met people in Strasbourg. WOW, the EU bureaucrats have poured a TON of money into Strasbourg. They sure know how to spiff up a place, those bureaucrats. It was almost nothing like I remember from 35 yrs ago. some awesome patisserie & boulangerie on, um, "Grande Rue", which I figured should be called Rue Grande. A place called, um, Atelier 116. LMAO @ the Quality/Price vs anything, anything in the USA. How a SBUX even exists in a town like that btsom.
In Strasbourg, stay near the Cathedral. Then, anyplace you want to see is < 15 minute walk in any direction. The Cathedral is awesome, but most other "sites" were not so much. We went to meet people, eat, drink, so it was cool. The French get many things wrong, but they still sit right at the top with Japan for the best food.
(The Hilton there has a poor location, unless you're driving in & out for a short stay, so I wouldn't rec it. A+ for my wife on her airbnb choices vs Hiltons)
a warning: if you go to Colmar (tourist town nr Strasbourg), do NOT go to the Michelin-starred restaurant. The couple we were with are very brand-conscious, so as soon as they saw the word "Michelin", they booked us for the course-lunch. $60 pp I think it was. NOT EVEN GOOD. I got a good pc of fish, prob dorado, with a tomato-based sauce, which turned out to be basically tomato paste. Huh? Bad enough they served me tomato paste, but on FISH!?!??!?! I tasted other plates and none were impressive. wtf Michelin!??!!?!? Imagine going to FRANCE and paying $60 for lunch and having it be lousy. Inconceivable.
In Zurich, hung around the Univ. Know someone who is getting a PhD there. Walked around. Einstein, etc. Zurich & Basel were how I pictured: efficient, kind of minimalist at almost everything. Strange thing: take a train from Basel to Zurich, other than the traditional architecture and the trees being different, look around and think "Am I in (semi-rural) Japan?"
1st time in Lisbon. Nice looking city. With all the hills and the (OLD) trams, some parts sort of look like SF, just (OLDer). Ate fresh fish, not salted. Same as in Spain, when ordering "local" food, always have to think "Which of these things will be the saltiest?" It may have been even more over-run with tourists than Strasbourg was.
It was Europe. Not my itinerary. It was fun. Not spectacular. Long flights. CROWDED airports. Oh, I do not recommend the Lisbon airport (multiple snafus on just entering and leaving. No major damage and I decided to chill-out the whole trip, so I could sort of laugh at the incompetence) & the Lisbon uber drivers were good and bad. uber cars everywhere around Lisbon. Could be the main source of employment there.

oh, we used UA to Europe and AA to come back. Confirmed for me that AA between the US & Europe is crap, and I am talking about 1st-class. The equipment, the food, the wine, Pitiful choice of non-wine alcohol. :ROFLMAO:
If you like wine, fly a European airline. AA served 2 Buck Chuck practically. Come to think of it, the UA lounges were better also.
If you need to use AA miles, fly to Japan on a joint-JAL flight. A world of difference.

We have done AA to Europe and back (Business and First) multiple times and I can certainly say that our experiences differ from yours from the aircraft to the food and the lounges. Especially the available lounges at LHR. To each their own.

I'll give you the inflight wine, though. Better than what you seem to have experienced, but not top notch.

Cheers.
