We have a number of unit weeks in a timeshare condo. In Florida I found out if you rent out your time share by law you are required to add on 6 percent of the total rental charged. Section 212.03(1)(a), Florida statues. In addition to that tax I understand there is a 7 percent tourist development tax in Pinellas County Florida as provided by Section 125.0104 Florida Statutes. So in short we are required to pay remit 13% in taxes to Dept. of Revenue.
My Question is as we rented out our units this year because we were unable to travel because of covid are we required to pay the taxes. We are not in the business in renting out our timeshare. Is there any need for concern that we did not collect and remit the taxes?

Sounds clear that you owe taxes. I think your question is whether you are likely to get caught. Probably not.
