At 10 month mark, can you book into any RCI points resort, as long as you have enough points, and availability? Points from a white week OR red week are treated the same as long you have enough points?

Correct. Points are points. The comparative value is adjusted in the number of points required for the exchange, which generally goes down as move-in date gets closer or the resort has excess availability.

For ongoing searches which typically match to weeks inventory the oldest ongoing search should have priority.

If you are trying to grab points inventory that is released at 10 months (home resort and home group already had dibs for 2-1 months) than first to grab it and complete the transaction. You may want to be up at midnight to grab certain inventory. There is a chance that no inventory makes it through the home resort and home resort group priority periods.

We bought at Pahio Bali Hai Villa in Kauai and we trade in our EOY week for points through rci. I have had a ton of trouble booking anything through rci even a year in advance. I have complained and someone told me rci went public and offers points to firemen and police now as a benefit and market is saturated. Is there a better option for us as owners?

But are you trading your EOY week for TPU's (weeks "points") or actual RCI points? It makes a difference. How many points are you getting for it?

or are you using wyndham points deposited into RCI? If so do you have nightly stays through RCI or only weeks inventory?

And are you running ongoing searches, or just searching the online 'catalog' for available trades? Those are just leftovers after OGSs are filled. Generally, the high maintenance fees of Hawaiian resorts makes them not such good traders. It's like trading a Cadillac for a used Chevy. Hawaii resorts are for using. The 'better use' for owners is to use your week.
