In celebration of our nation’s 250th birthday in 2026, assuming we make it, they are lowering the trading power required to trade into timeshares near historic Colonial Williamsburg?

Sounds about right.

Looks like II is correcting an overvaluing of these resorts that many of us TUGers have taken advantage of.

It caught my eye while back when @Eric B divested himself of his VV Williamsburg ownership due to increasing bad debt and the feeling something might head in the wrong direction.

I was holding onto my week 30 CWQ (the Colinies) trader, but between this and the Massanutten and VV divorce, I may change my mind.
What’s the next play?

I'm thinking about reducing my VV portfolio and getting rid of a 1BR HGVC Vegas unit, keeping an eye on the economy, and possibly doing some bargain shopping later.

Two things I currently have interest in (with no plans to immediately buy): a platinum HGVC Craigendarroch Lodges (can be traded in HGVC, European DeX, RCI & II -- my intention will be to trade in DeX and HGVC) and something that has narrower appeal more limited to me: another week 52 at Massanutten Mountainside Villas (for me to trade into Massanutten with internal exchange fees or to rent if not needed).

Interesting. What's good about DEX? Lower exchange fee or more inventory to HGVC?
I will wait till my Colonies no longer sees available DVC inventory. Currently it's good for DVC, Marriotts in Desert Springs, Scottsdale, HIlton Head and Orlando which I don't mind going regularly. In the future, like to get a Marriott or Vistana trader - think I am missing a lot of fun without any preference.

I believe when I did my testing I used the 2 BR Marriott grande vista. To think a 2 BR 150 TDI Marriott will not see another 2 Bedroom Marriott is a bit disheartening.

What dates and resorts are you searching for? I did a dummy search using a May week (not 150 TDI) with our 2026 MGV 2BR and see lots of two-bedroom availability in II.

Interesting. What's good about DEX? Lower exchange fee or more inventory to HGVC?
1) lower exchange fee
2) better access to trade into HVC/Diamond properties (and not pay their resort fees)
3) Ability to also trade straight into HGVC points not using DeX, which is how I would use it if I wanted to book HGVC properties.

I am not sure I want to completely leave the Colonies (CWQ). But I own too much now that they have separated from Massanutten. After liquidating my current holdings, I would keep an eye out for an EOY unit (4BR lock-off).

Does DEX have annual fees?
Recent bulk deposit of HGVC into RCI makes me feel good about RCI / unless you find DEX cheaper to trade, with Craig (MF + exchange fees)
