Do any timeshare locations accept dogs?

None in any that I own or would ever trade into, not interested in pet leftovers, I love dogs, my Duke stays with a friend when we travel.

Saw a lady at the grocery store the other day with a little dog in some sort of a dog purse. I told her that it is against the law to bring a dog (other than a service animal) into a food establishment. She got huffy so I went and told the manager - he asked her to leave.

A couple options:
I understand that many Motel 6's allow dogs in some rooms. My buddies with hunting dogs leave them in kennels in the back of the pick-up.

Vacation Villages In The Berkshires Accepts Pets

Add the very nice Gold Crown VVB to the list of resorts that accept pets. You just have to make your PET reservation well in advance if you own, when you do the exchange if you go through RCI. One building accepts pet and it is so much in demand they might add a second.

That list of pet friendly resorts is very helpful.

Not appearing on that list, but nonetheless allowing dogs (of any size) is Mountain Edge Resort, Mt. Sunapee, NH (RCI #6995). RCI Points facility.

That said, however, I don't recommend the place -- with or without dog. Although it's relatively new, the place is poorly designed, with very strange, user-unfriendly space layout and (virtually useless) mini-kitchens. :ignore:

Here are some additional suggestions we give to clients:

ALWAYS be sure to double check with the resort before you travel! Some resorts that appear on pet friendly lists have limitations.. And resort policies can change without notice!

Common questions you should ask are:
*Are pets allowed in the villas or required to be placed in kennels? (some resorts show as pet friendly but offer onsite kennels).
*Is there limited availability of pet-friendly units? (some resorts have a limited number of units available to pet owners and you must request this).
*Where are pets allowed on the property? (some resorts have onsite campground sections and only allow pets there- not in the timeshare villas).
*What are the size and breed limitations?
*Are additional fees required for the pet?
*Finally, let your vet know you plan to be traveling with your pet and get contact info in case you need to reach them! Also, remember to look up local vets in the areas you travel to.. In the event of an emergency- you don't want to be unprepared!

I have called rersorts and asked about nearby pet boarding facilites.

I never did it but I could have put my dogs in commercial kennels for $30 at night and taken them out during the day. Many resorts have a relationship with a local dog boarding facility they can refer dog owners to. Some resorts would let dogs romp with their owners on the outside grounds but not go inside the units or buildings. If you own a timeshare it is worth calling to ask them about specific polices.
