Disposing of units at Marriott Fairway Villas in NJ

I had seen another owner post regarding the $400 fee now being charged by Marriott on 6/2 and posted it here on 6/4.
Here is your “proof”

Dissapointing indeed. I understand Marriott Vacations is out to make a buck, but when someone is giving you something for free that you can resell for tens of thousands of dollars this screams of greed.

Agree

Do you know if they could get weeks at Disney World, and what kind of inventory II has for Animal Kingdom or Beach Club Villas, as well as other resorts?
Getting Beach Club Villas through II would be like finding a unicorn. Technically possible, but extremely unlikely. AKV shows up occasionally for low-demand weeks. Only in 1 bedroom units.

For most units they don't want them back. They want to sell points and have someone pay the fees on units already owned. I suspect they'll waive the added fees for the more desirable units but we'll see how this shakes out. Deedback is certainly not a right and not anything we should expect as an option as members IMO. One can sell or consider simply stopping paying the fees and see what happens.
