Snagged DVB for 1/30/10, then Vistana Beach club the next week.

Having never stayed on the east coast, not sure of what is around either of those areas.

I assume that a car is required, definitely between the 2 resorts, but, is it necessary other wise?

Any info on either area would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm a Vero Beach owner, what sort of unit did you get?

It's pretty secluded, you will need a car. It's about a 10 minute drive into either Vero Beach itself or Sebastian.

Disney VB is nice but unless you are going to cook every night they have limited dining options for a full week in my opinion. I think you'll want a car so you can go and try some of the nice restaurants in the area. It's a very relaxing place. Very picturesque but not much commercial close to the resort. It's mostly residential.

Have fun and congrats on your trade. :whoopie:

We've done 2- 1 week trips and have yet to cook dinner. We go out to dinner, the cook(me) is on vacation..

Confirmation says 28S 2BR sleeps 8, 6 private.

Know anything about the unit?

Thanks

Yeah, as we stay in 2brs(we usually get a dedicated one). King size in the master. Queen and sleeper sofa in 2nd bedroom. They've just updated the units, so new furniture(sleeper sofa and sleeper chair in living room if needed). Flat screen tvs!

Layout is much better than the WDW DVC's with the exception of OKW. Kitchen works well, plenty of counter space. http://www.mouseowners.com/info/showentry.php?e=89&catid=132

The best views are from the OV Inn rooms(aka studio size) or one of the Beach Cottages(3brs). I always ask for a top floor, we prefer Villa 12 our selves.

Here's a map of the resort

I think I also have an activity sheet I brought home from our last trip, if you're interested

good for you Twinkstarr. I haven't stayed there a whole week yet so I just eat at Shutters or the snackbar at the pool but I think a week at Shutters would be a bit much. I did venture into town and eat at a nice restaurant on the Riverfront. But they'll need a car for that. :)

We ate at Shutter's twice last trip, more than that would be too much. Happened to catch the all you can eat stone crab claw special the night we did our "adults only" dinner. We didn't even eat at the snack bar, made lunch in the room and took it out to the pool.

We just get cleaned up after a day at the pool/beach and hop in the car. I know the Lobster Shanty has call ahead seating.

Who doesn't have a car at Vero Beach? Most of the DVC'ers driver over from WDW.

You need a car at Vero for sure. We live about 25 minutes north of Vero Beach Resort and it's our favorite DVC resort for sure. In our area, you can visit Kennedy Space Center, come to lots of delicious locally-owned restaurants, go to the McLarty Treasure Museum (near the resort), and so much more! You'll love Vero Beach Resort for sure!!

Here's the Inn building, taken from the walkway down to the beach

The umbrellas and chairs that the resort rents. Pricey. Stop off at Walmart and buy your own. Even if you leave them you'll come out ahead. This also goes for boogie boards.
