Disney prime weeks

I am thinking next year I would like to go to disney during thanksgiving or the week before Christmas next year.

I have a lot tpu's and points so I have access to both rci systems.

I also don't care if I end up in Orlando or Anaheim. What are the chances of me getting a disney exchange these weeks. I am confident I would be able to find something over a longer period but I can only travel those two weeks next year in the fall

I also know I way ahead since this more then 1 and half away but I found the best exchanges this far out.

You're on the right track. Put in an ongoing search. DVC exchanges are picked up as soon as they are put into RCI. So, if you see one, grab it!

Disney's Anaheim resort is almost impossible to get through RCI. There are very few units there. Disney's Orlando resorts are a much better bet. I would guess the week before Christmas will be easier to get than Thanksgiving week.

I am worried about the Thanksgiving Week being hard to get. I might just widen my search for the summer as well that way I have a pretty chance of getting something.

Does anyone know any DVC properties to avoid? I know i want to avoid the studio's since ther really small. Does many 2 bedrooms every come up.

2 bedrooms don't come up as often. But we've done a 1 bedroom with 5 of us and made it fit.

Thanksgiving Week is packed at the parks. I would do the week before Christmas. Plus, the Christmas decorations and parades are beautiful. I have been to Disney 2-3 weeks before Christmas - so all the decorations are done before then.

As for 1 BDR units - the resorts are different. WVV do not have the sleeper chair - so 5 won't fit into a 1bdr. Most AKV units (Kidina building) has the sleeper chair plus the 2nd full bath. BWV doesn't have enough floor space for even a sleeping bag.

If you have the TPUs, go the 2bdr/2ba. 5 people with 1 bath would be too much - in my travel world.

You probably need closer to 2 years advance searching to get into VGC. But it's worth searching for EVERYTHING if you're open to going to either Disney.

A year out, I would expect a 2BR to be fairly easy to get. Different people have different preferences, but we would rather have a 2BR than be in a specific resort.

If you do an ongoing search and have enough points put it under the points system because that can see both points and weeks inventory.
