Has anyone used this airline? I've been monitoring flights/prices for a friend who is coming to Florida end of April and was alerted via one of my travel sites of a sale by Direct Air. I have no experience with this airline.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes we've used them twice & SIL & family have also used them. We fly out of Niagara Falls, NY to Lakeland FL & SIL goes to Myrtle Beach. The aircraft are old but well kept & the staff are great. We couldnt find a better price anywhere.

Thanks for the quick response. Our friends will need to book by tonight to take advantage of the sale. They'd be flying out of Kalamazoo, MI into Sanford/Orlando. $79 one way is the best rate I've seen recently for the dates they need.

A few of our relatives and friends have flown Direct Air from Kalamazoo to Punta Gorda. No problems except only one flight a day and not every day, so if a plane problem, not easy to reschedule!

We flew Direct Air in November no problem at all. Great price. They are always having a sale. Just booked 3 people for August return $396!! Love the small airport rather than the big crowded airports we usually use. Good luck..you will love it! Flying to Florida you can fly into Punta Gorda or Lakeland.

Our friends booked their flight last night. Best price out there right now for the timeframe they need. And the departure/arrival times were great, which isn't usually the case when trying to book a "sale flight".

Appreciate the feedbacks!

Unfortunately, flying out of Kalamazoo, MI you only have the choice of Punta Gorda/Ft. Myers or Orlando/Sanford. This works for us this time as we'll all be heading to Cocoa Beach to stay at our timeshare at Discovery Beach Resort (LOVE this resort!).

Will definately keep my eye on this airline site and hopefully can get grandkids down for a visit later this year.

They hit you hard for the extra's, and if you need to change something or cancel, good luck talking to somebody.

Their flights tend to be late but I have never had a bad flight. Non stop to me is a big plus.

DH flew from Worcester, MA to Punta Gorda, FL last night, nonstop, and loved it. The flight was on time and he had an exit row seat with much more room than the big carriers. He paid $2 for a soda, had to call all day to get through to an agent and know of several friends who have had delays. In spite of the drawbacks, all the folks I've spoken to would fly Direct Air again.

Direct Air -Beware!

I have two family ties vouchers(open ended and can be booked in anyone's name) that I bought and have spent the past month trying to book with no success. There are days when I make over 50 calls to their number with the response "all agents are busy please hang up and try your call later". Only once have I been given the option to hold for the next available agent and spent 40 minutes on hold and no one ever came on the line. I have emailed and twice put in an online request for booking and no response. I am so frustrated and am afraid I will lose the $338 I spent on these. I think this is a scam. They sell these vouchers and make it so difficult to book them that they hope you give up. They don't have enough seats available for you to book and you cannot sell them in good conscience to anyone. As far as my experience I would never recommend this company to anyone.
