I am no expert, and I love to take photos on trip, and do a lot of scrapbooking. I need a book that will give me ideas on how to make my colors more vivid, or crisp; not a book for total idiots, but one that will let me do some medium things without being truly scary, like layering!
TIA

I was confused by your post in that you requested books on digital photography but your question seemed more like software issues so I'm not sure which you need.

For books on photography take a look at Bryan Peterson's web site which may help in taking your photos to a new level. You can buy these titles through Amazon and other outlets btw.

With respect to software adjustments to digital photos I would need to know what program you are using.

If you're looking for software after you have taken your pictures, I highly recommend Photoshop Elements. It has a fairly steep learning curve, but there are some great websites out there that offer support and hints to accomplish great things with your photos.

If you are more interested in tips and tricks for your camera, you should check out Scott Kelby's Digital Photography books. They are fabulous and offer lots of quick tips to improve your photos immediately

Yup, I am looking on ways to get better pics without having to make all the adjustments. I find the colors are sometimes not very vibrant, and I don't know why.

I'm assuming you want to improve the color saturation when you take the pictures. Read the camera manual and find out how to increase the exposure by one f-stop. You will probably have to set your shutter speed and lens diaphragm manually.
