I have used this program successfully a number of years ago to give back a traditional timeshare week at Cypress Pointe Resort at Lake Buena Vista. I recently tried another transition with Diamond Resorts. The transition was initially accepted, then I was advised by Diamond's title department that there was a problem. Since I had bought the timeshare week from a 3rd party (on Timeshare Marketplace) and not the developer, it was not eligible for their Transitions Program. Anyone have a similar experience with Diamond Resorts Transitions?

Yes. Everyone who tried to turn in a resale Diamond contract had the same result. Including me.

Hasn't it always been the DRI policy that only developer-direct purchases were / are eligible for DRI's "Transitions" program?

Back years ago when it was only $250, Diamond took back my resale Polo Towers unit. Maybe they will take a resale if it has some value to be sold again?

I owned a Virginia Beach Gold Key timeshare purchased on eBay. Just after Diamond bought them I gave my deed to them and it was accepted. Maybe they were trying to raise inventory for their owners as a jumpstart after the purchase
