Just noticed today when performing a few bookings the Diamond Preference option to select a specific unit was unavailable. Is this a temporary system glitch or did Hilton do away with this?

I made a reservation last week for Woodford Bridge Country Club and it was there. But, the option didn't show for Cabo Azul. I am not sure about the lack of consistency.

I was checking Polo Towers Suites, Lake Tahoe Resort and Cabo Azul

I am surprised to read that it is possible to request a specific unit. I have been making reservations for years and have completely missed that option! I have requested certain areas of a resort but not a particular unit. Good to know.

This is (or was) an option for elite level members.

When I looked today at another resort, I could see the ability to request a specific unit (but still not in the resorts I listed above that I tried yesterday).

One thing I noticed in the last few weeks was the inability to put a note into the reservation either a general note or a note about disability needs. Used to be there, now it's not?

Possibly another thing that has changed. So much for nothing changing!

OK. Over the past two days, I went through over a dozen resorts making mock ressies. I noticed for resorts that have been converted to Hilton Vacation (HV) (clearly noted by the name "Hilton" in the resort name in the Seatch Screen's resort drop down menu), the Diamond Preference (DP) option is missing; however, those resorts not yet converted to HV, the Diamond Preference option exists !

I called customer serviced and inquired if there has been a change on DP. The US-based rep stated she believed DP is going away, but she volunteered to go ask to be certain because there has been many changes happening this past year (due to the Hilton buyout).

It took some time, but when she returned to the line, she informed me DP is NOT going away for me since I did not convert to HGV Max. I ask her to start up a mock reservation for me at a property that has been converted to HV. She stated the DP was available for her to select, even going down a list of my favorite units to see what was available (there is a chance I will actually book this stay in a few days from now).

I THEN informed her what I noticed on my searches (HV vs non-HV properties (no DP vs DP, respectively)) - she typed up and sent a note to her support people to look into, then said she will get back to me once she get an update on this.

I hope this no-DP thing is just a computer gliche easily fixed. Time will tell.

Seems it's a problem just when trying to book The Historic Powhatan Resort.
There's an error that shows up: ##Resource not found: MemberSite_XML_Booking_Review, lblHVC##
instead of it letting you see the page with the places to insert notes.

I just did a mock booking on the Diamond website and it still offered a DP. If one upgrades to Max I believe they lose the ability to use DPs.

Did you try any 'Hilton' rebranded resorts? I haven't tried in awhile

Looks like you can still get a room assignment but I had to call. It may affect all rebranded properties?

We just used the fall promo link for a Sedona Summit (now HVC branded) reservation and saw the same error message. I called in to get help rolling points and the rep noticed I didn't have a room assignment on the new reservation - and got me one. Guessing it's going to be an issue for a while (until there's a website migration??), fun with IT.

More fun with rebranding and the website, when I searched for a specific resort (if not using the email link) I had to type in sedona s-u before the resort showed in the box, just 'sedona' didn't produce this resort as a choice in the list. Searching for anything in Sedona as a location did show Summit in the results...
