We are checking onto Sheraton Desert Oasis on March 18, and Cimarron, Palm Springs a week later. Does anyone know if they have in room internet connection for a lap top in either of these places. Any other hints on these resorts would be helpful. I have read the write-ups, but no recent reviews have been made. Thanks in advance.

The Sheraton Desert Oasis in Scottsdale has wi-fi in the main clubhouse building only (as mentioned in my October 2005 review). Rooms that are very close to the clubhouse might be able to pick up the signal but our unit was too far away to even bother trying.

It is not free but you can buy a week of unlimited access for about $20.

Cimarron PS

We stayed at Cimarron Golf Resort PS in late December 05. They have free wireless internet in the office, but there is no comfortable place to use it. I saw one gentlement sitting on the couch balancing his laptop on his knee. After that I just used dial-up from the room as I just wanted to do a quick e-mail check.

You didn't ask, but I was not too impressed with Cimarron. It is isolated and quiet and the pool is nice, but the nice on site restaurant is not open in the evening so you have to drive some which may be OK for some, but once I come back in the evening I would like to be able to get the evening meal without going out again. Also the carpet in our 1BD had been replace right after Washington slept there.

Post your impressions when you get back
