Depositing with Interval

It's been a long time since I have deposited our Cypress Harbor Special week with Interval.

I looks like the process may have changed. I used to reserve a week (usually Easter or Christmas to get the best trading power) first and then deposit that week. I called MVC and was told that I have an option of 1) depositing a week that I select such as Easter or Christmas or 2) I can select to deposit a general week with no certain check in date. MVC could not tell me what the expiration date of the deposit would be in option 2.

Can someone guide me on how the deposit works. Should I select a top week as an owner occupied unit and then deposit the week afterwards? Does the trade power actually change? Does the expiration date change?

I also own a Vistana unit and with Vistana we receive an average week and it always has a December 31 expiration date two years after the deposit year. There is no choice of a week and its always has the December 31st expiration date. I was wondering if Marriott actually works the same way.

Lastly, how is the trade power of a 2 bedroom special week at Cypress Harbor? It used to get me prime summer week in Hawaii and Myrtle Beach on a regular basis.

RE: trading power...right now I can see mid-August 2026 units at Surfwatch and Barony with my 2BR Cypress (it's an Easter week deposited at 13 months). It's probably a little late in the game for trying to nab July 4th weeks, unless someone cancels and there's no outstanding request. It's also a little early to tell for 2027.

I can see those same mid-August weeks with a 1BR Grande Vista. The studio doesn't see them.

As soon as you deposit the highest TDI week you can reserve place a request.
Yes, high trading power will but you near the top on the line for your request
But someone still needs to deposit the week you want for you to exchange in
The sooner you request, the bigger chance the week will want will be deposited and it will be your turn to get it
In my experience requesting earlier is more important than waiting to get a few more TDI points on a reserved week
Search manually too while your request is in place- cancellation may go into general inventory before the search filter runs so you may find what you are looking for

It might still get you that, but those weeks are rarely just sitting out there online up for grabs. As noted, you need an OGS.

I know you know this but for others who may not, the list is reshuffled every time someone joins the queue based on trade power. It does help searching by the time deposits start to hit the system and the time stamp does help as a tie breaker.
