Depositing Westgate into II

Decided not to use my Westgate Flamingo Bay next year in LV and decided to exchange. Researched demand in LM, picked a couple of high demand weeks, called Westgate and received a confirmation number on one of them. Received an email confirmation from Westgate, called II, deposited the week and received a confirmation of the deposit. A week later while looking at the II website, found there was no deposited week. Checked in the history, deposit cancelled. Called II they said Westgate cancelled the deposit in the "verification" process. Called Westgate, my week as there, but "I didn't do the deposit correctly". The agent said I should have let them know I was getting a week for deposit and they would have deposited "a" week with II. You know that it would have been a high demand week so my trading power would be enhanced. Right. I insisted they deposit my week and they agreed to, of course it's Friday, after 5:00 in FL and they can't do it until Monday. Luckily I wasn't going to plan a trip this weekend. That's probably the first time they have been so deceitful to my face. Glad I checked, I could have lost my week.

I hate how Westgate changed their deposit process with II. Even for a fixed week, you still have to contact Westgate to get a deposit number, enter that in II, then keep fingers-crossed it goes through.

Jeff,

That's what I did and Westgate cancelled my deposit. Westgate wants to make the deposit, which is counter to what II tells you to do. That way they can deposit the off-season or shoulder weeks.

I think internally they are floating time now, which is maybe why they need the reservation system.
