I callled on Sunday to deposit my Starwood week for the first time (in II). I know I got an unexperienced person, but I didn't have time to mess around with it and call back another time. It is a mandatory resort, so no other options there.

So, she couldn't figure out how to tell me what might be deposited. I decided to take my chances and see what I got. She said it would be up to 72 hours to see my deposit. Well, still nothing there except my "real" resort, which lists floating 2009. I don't even own 2009! I have an EOY even year.

What is up with that? Is that a dummy week just sitting in there? I assume it isn't what they deposited, because it says floating, without any dates.

Do I need to call them back again? I really dislike talking to people.

Yes - it's just a dummy week. I own an EOY even week, and I have a 2009 dummy week in my acct. anyway.

Inexperienced help is a problem - you might consider asking for a supervisor next time?

i called II on wednesday and my unit was deposited already and made my exchange. i used my small 1 br at svv and got a 2 br l/o at WKV for february. so i will be there for 2 weeks, hopefully 3 weeks in 2010.

Woah! You called Wed and already have a week deposited? And I am STILL waiting...........:annoyed: I knew she was inexperienced, but this doesn't bode well. I will call them today.

I really didn't know how to go about asking for someone else who actually knew what they were talking about. Is there some polite way of asking for someone who has a clue?

Way to go, sensei!

So I called back again, and found out that in my fact the deposit was never completed! The person I spoke to read the notes and found out the other lady hadn't finished the job.

I checked later that day and there was already a deposit in there. Problem is, it is week 2 at VV. Oh well, it will work for the priority period of Starwood.

My next question is, how do you who have successfully asked for a different week or resort manage that? Both of the people I spoke to said they only put in the request and it is a different department that does the depositing.

Do you ask to speak to someone in that department? It is so hard to know what is right and wrong when you are dealing with inexperienced people.

with the unit that was deposited are you able to see the place where you want to go? tell us what place you want to go and we can do a test to see if it even in the system. if it is not, then it doesn't matter what unit was deposited.

tell us what place you want to go and we can do a test to see if it even in the system.

Please post any Sightings Requests on the Sightings Board - right below the TUG Lounge.

Cindi - you might have to ask to speak to a supervisor.

Funny - I was having some of the same questions mentioned in here and just saw this post.

So... How do you 'know' when the deposit has actually been made? I am just assuming that the banked week on II change from your home resort unit to whatever they had to deposit for you?

When the deposit has been made, you can see it in your II online Acct. under the "My History" link at the very top of the page.

I am planing on using it way down the road to go to Hawaii. :D It does "see" the Westins that are in the system right now, so I am not too worried about it.

More worried about talking DH into going.

That is what I was wondering about. If next time I just need to try to bypass the regular desk and go straight to a supervisor.

There is such a learning curve with every timeshare system.
