So... I forgot all about my Hilton points! I can book (probably) a 2 bedroom on the Big Island, drop my requests for all islands except Kauai. If we don't get our trade, I can use the hotel certs. If I do get the trade, I'd try to rent the Hilton and use the certs. (or save the certs).

But then my Aruba (reservation July 10, 2009) which was deposited (not locked off) a few weeks ago isn't used. So can it be used NEXT summer for a trade? Sorry for the dumb question - but I've always either used it or direct exchanged it. This is my first II deposit.

Deposits are good for 2 yrs. So your week is valid from July 10-17, 2009, which means it is good until July 17, 2011.

Your Aruba week will not reduce in value. It will be a great trader.

Ellen,
You went to Spain this summer, correct? How was it? Were you able to confirm your FF airline seats to Hawaii?

YES! I went to spain this summer! My trip report is up and pics are on my picture trail below. It was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for asking!

I was able to get the FF seats to Hawaii. That said, I got 2 First for 140K each (premium on USAIR) and 2 coach for 70K each (for the kids - obviously also on USAIR). That really lowers the value of the Marriott point (NOT that Marriott makes Usair charge more - but that's life). Regardless, I am very happy - hoping for a Hilton week and a Marriott exchange. I hate the not knowing - but I love the planning. :)
