Deposit week trade power

I know this has been discussed 1000 times but as always when it’s my first time to do something new I’m nervous. My deadline for 60 day deposit in II is July 21st. What differences are there in depositing before and after the 60 days? If I deposit it does the power of that week hold for me to then try to book another week with it? And if I did future Marriott to Marriott retrades with it does the power of the original week stay with those exchanges or just whatever current exchange I have?

Trade power after 60 days isn't the issue. The problem with depositing inside of 60 days is that you can then only trade for something with checkin 60 days or less in the future. This is a huge restriction and why it is always recommended to deposit outside of 60 days from checkin of your reservation.

As for depositing, once deposited the trade power should stay the same. It has been reported that retrades may not have the same trade power of the original deposit, but that really shouldn't be the case.

Great thanks! Ok then I will deposit it as really the dates don’t work for me and that’s not going to change, so nothing to hold me back if I’ve better flexibility doing before the 60 day deadline.

The trade power will be reduced even before the 60 day window but it will depend on the specifics of the week and resort. The M to M exchange option will likely make the reduced trade power a non issue unless it's a marginal week anyway.

Arghhh II saying 3-5 weeks to set up a new account! My deadline is next week. I can now see my unenrolled week in interval but if I try to deposit it I can’t. My own fault didn’t realize I would need a seperate II account to deposit.
