Delete a file

I have been trying to delete a file on my I drive which is my flash drive but every time I try it I get a message that said “cannot remove file directory is not empty” The folder shows that there are no files but I still get this message. Can anyone tell me how to delete the files

I have an external hard drive that had backup folders on it from our backup program. They were protected from being deleted. I edited those permissions and addempted to delete the folders. The system wouldn't let me but after several attempts the folders appeared empty but they couldn't be deleted. When running properties on the drive these folders were allocating a lot of GB. Its as if the files were phantom. I bought another drive and transfered my other files to it then just deleted the partition on that other drive. Fixed the problem. Doubt this helps you though, but thought I would share.

I went into the error checking and ran it then it let me delete the file it was probaly corrupt
