Defaulting on the timeshare

Hello! My mother was sadly victim to one of Westgate's commercial spins back in 2020 and bought a timeshare at Westgate Palace, recently we used it and we unknowingly again, bought some Leisure travel package which was honestly sold on lies, the closing agent said we had three weeks on the package, the PDFs sent say only one, the price we locked was different to the price offered, yadda yadda, to summarize, we grew tired of their business, we're foreign residents, residing in Spain, but my mother does own US bank accounts, and has a new credit line with her BoA account, is it still safe to default with them?, her remaining balance is 6K$ Should my mother be concerned about the card? It's just a 'for fun' card so she wasn't planning on any big expenses for it either

Also, I wonder, should we bother with emails of her desisting to her mortgage or just go radio silence and stop auto-pay?
