Hello, from new member. I’m impressed with the amount of information and help from TUG members. Aside from giving away a Grandview At Las Vegas Time Share has anyone been successful with Grandview Deedback program?

I am interested in the same question for my long owned and paid for timeshare in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
Thank you!
ps I'm a new member of TUGS. Thank you!

Grandview has value for its low MF per points ratio, and you should be able to easily give it away on TUG.

@ecwins, I would also post your listing on the bargain basement, but you will need to give much more information--name of resort, location, annual MF, whether it trades in RCI or II, if it's fixed-week or points based. TUGgers will need to know that even if a deed-back is the way to go.

Both of you should check out the "How to Give Away My Timeshare for Free on TUG" sticky.

I haven't heard of a deedback program at grandview but you can always call to find out. While some grandview units converted to rci points have resale value many do not and most weeks based (unconverted) ones also have no resale value.

Several years back, we accepted somebody's Grandview giveaway of a 1BR unit worth 49,000 annual points. We promptly turned around & sold it, not for much but for a little something.

Years later, for about what we cleared from selling the free Grandview unit, we bought a Grandview triennial 1BR points unit via eBay. (It's good for 16,333 points every year.) We still have that -- our only remaining timeshare after severely downsizing.

Is this a great country or what ?

Good to keep a toe in the timesharing pond. Enough for a few exchanges and access to Last Calls etc.

Yep, it IS a great country!

I know someone who is interested in owning at Grandview. So it's not considered an ad, can you PM me the details on what you want to be rid of? I can ask my friend if it works for him. Thanks!

Dave

Now that we're downsized, about the only way we can get reservations is via Last Call & Extra Vacation Getaway, when those are on sale.

We can do points exchanges only by taking advantage of those RCI 9,000-point specials (essentially, the points version of Last Call), or by combining last year's & this year's & next year's points so they add up to a reasonable total.

Right now our points balance stands at zero, not only for 2019 but ditto for 2020. Even borrowing ahead on those (all of'm), we were still short for a 7,500-point reservation last January, so we bought enough extra points to complete the transaction. We can't even borrow ahead again until we get access to the following year's points.

Our current points shortage got us to start eyeballing the eBay points timeshare listings again. More recently, we decided we'll just tough it out & see if we can get by with Last Call & Extra Vacation Getaway reservations for January 2020.

I sympathize. When you're used to full condos, it's hard to get used to a dinky hotel room when you want to travel.

Currently Grandview TS is in weeks. My understanding is I have to contact my resort and change the account to a points system. Can you add to or clarify this

Changing a 'weeks' account to 'Points' is an upsell, and resorts charge up to $ thousands to convert. Far cheaper to sell/give away the 'weeks' deed and buy a Points week already converted on the resale market.

Depending on what week you own, it may be easy or hard to give away. Some weeks in Vegas as very desirable. If it’s a fixed week in slow season you’re going to have a hard time.
