Date night in Wailea for a grad student

One of my cohort is going to Wailea with her boyfriend's family. They want to have a date night at a good restaurant, but are on a grad student budget.

Suggestions?

Tell them to leave Wailea.

Do they have a car or do they want to be able to walk? The Monkeypod or Fabiani's pizza might fit the bill, but if they want to be on the waterfront walkway I'd just suggest going for drinks after dinner if they're on a budget...

In Wailea they could try Manoli's Pizza. Decent pizza, and nice location.

If they can get to Kihei there are several good restaurants that are less expensive.
