Cypress Harbour Construction updates

We've stayed here twice and like the resort. Well maintained and the employees here are excellent. Very well run.
Looks liked a huge resort. We liked a high floor a way from the crowds. It will be just the two of us traveling. What building or buildings would you recommend . We enjoy walking the resort grounds and playing corn hole, pickled ball and putt putt. Thanks for any suggestions.

Is the resort peaceful at night and in the early morning?

The resort reviews and photos all are very nice.

Just go when most kids are in school. It will be quieter then.

Why? It is the parking lots and cars that should be hidden. Not housing units.
I think some of the new housing units back right up to the Cypress Harbour property. There was also concern about homes backing right up to the lake on the other side of the Clubhouse Pool. I am not sure how much they can do with vegetation or if they really need to do anything at all. Bamboo is really the only thing that would grow fast enough and I don’t think it looks natural enough in that setting. Most of the new homes would really only be noticeable from buildings in the far back of the resort.

Yeah they recently completed some townhouses on the northside of the property. They are pretty close to the fence line. I guess I don't see that as a big issue. Far less of an issue than if you had loud neighbors in the unit next to you. They are also building south of Cypress but they have only leveled the land and haven't started construction yet.

Planning a trip in December. Loved this resort because it was quiet.l but it have been 5 years since last trip.
Sound like things are still ok?
Do they have good grills there since grilling in winter is my happy place.

Yep. Grills were working great last month when I was there.

We were at Cypress Harbour last week. Brandon (GM) has been here for a little over a year, but most of the leadership team has been around for many years and are all great to work with.

The primary building impacted by the new townhome construction at this time is building 74. The balconies will look right at the parking lot and new buildings. The rest of the townhomes back up to Cypress' parking lots and maintenance building, so really don't seem to be much of an impact. As mentioned earlier by @dioxide45 , across the pond from the clubhouse pool is an area that will likely have buildings, although I'm not sure how close to the pond. It will be difficult for Cypress to add any landscape to block that area, as I think all the land on that side of the pond was owned by the golf course and likely now by the developer.

We attended the owner meeting and Brandon indicated that fencing will be put in place between the new construction and Cypress as construction is completed (we saw that an 8' fence has been put in place, where construction is complete.) He also said they are looking at landscaping options to soften and block the view. He stressed that while bamboo may be used, it shouldn't be the only types of planting.

On another note, villas in buildings 50-53 are being completely renovated - kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, paint, soft furnishings over the next 2-3 months. In fact, building 50 should be done in the next few days. Brandon mentioned the cost per unit was in the $140-150K range.

Good Afternoon,

We are visiting Cypress Harbor for the first time in October of this year (Tue, Oct 07, 2025 - Wed, Oct 15, 2025). Our main reasons for booking this resort, as we have others in the past, is a kitchen, a washer/dryer, and a tub.

Can you tell me (if you happen to know) @aklausing or anyone on the forum, if the renovated rooms will still have a jetted tub in them? That's something we don't have at home, and the hubby wants to enjoy a bath after a long day in the parks. Heck, me too!

We're looking for quiet, but close enough to pools to walk. My Sister-in-Law will be joining us, and she is in a scooter recovering from surgery, so we're looking to give her some nice views as she will be in the room or scooting around the resort during her recovery.

Any tips, things to consider, or advice appreciated - thank you!

I am not aware of them pulling the big jetted tubs at Cypress Harbour. Those things are iconic. Though I haven't been there recently to verify in person.

They're definitely removing them. They've completed a couple of buildings already. Here's the "brochure" we received in the newsletter. You can see they're walling off the Master Bath right where the tub used to be. Good riddance IMO.

Thanks for the update. Certainly very interesting. Is the new walk in shower in the location where the tub used to be?

I haven't been inside one of the remodels yet, but from what I can picture the shower is in the same place...just bigger, and then dual sink is more or less where it was before. We don't go back again until March but I'll be sure to tour one of the new ones. I meant to do it while we there but never got around to it.

Wasn't the entry to the shower inside the water closet where the toilet was?

Loved the tub, but as I have gotten older, it's a lot tougher to get in and out of.

Yes, in one of the dumbest set ups I've ever seen.

I'll email the GM and see if they have a new floor plan available.

The jetted tub is being removed when the units are refurbished. The shower is increasing in size. The entry to the shower is no longer in the water closet and the water closet will be by itself.

Only three buildings have been refurbished and there will be no more done until 2027 at which time all the buildings will be completed over the next 3-4 years.

There are plenty of rooms available that still have the jetted tubs and I'm sure if you request one you will be able to get one since most people would likely be requesting the refurbished rooms.
