100% Cypress Harbour. Stayed in 1 bed SSR in March and that kitchen is AWFUL if wanting to cook-ordered Hello Fresh meals so not even much need for prep etc. CH also has the full size washer/dryer. Just stayed at Grande Vista 3 bed for a week to go to Universal for Halloween Horror Nights. Not a bad commute at all and if have the toll tag just jump into the HOV/express lane-makes dealing with I4 much less stressful LOL.

Hoping for soft opening spot for Epic for passholders!
Agreed. We didn’t like Animal Kingdom Lodge but was impressed by Grande Vista. The high expectation prior and reality after might also explains the gap. Now I say they are different. For immerse Disney fun, go for DVC and for a totally relaxed vacation with a bit Disney, go for Marriott.

I am at DVC owner and we would choose to stay at Lakeshore instead of DVC if it is just our family. Maybe for a few days at most if just us.

Now if we invite others or first timers we will bite the bullet and stay on site for ease of transportation on being in the Dinsye bubble. Also if we have little ones.

After 16 years of staying at DVC, my now 19 year old son, would rather stay at a nicer off site villa.

For next year Disney is including a free waterpark day on your check in day for all deluxe resort stays, so if you can get there either the day before and stay at an off-site cheap mattress run place or are driving from close by and can get there early in the day, it might be worth it to do assuming it's not too cold to take advantage of.
Last year when we did a spring break trip it was warm enough to go in the pools at Vistana but with Orlando it's hit or miss with the cold weather in March.
If your a polar bear like my brother then you might not care if it's cold.
If you are going with a crowd that's a significant value and will pay for the $190 junk fee that Disney is currently charging.
Then again, who knows if that fee is going up next year like all the Disney fees going up.

Oh, you are so right about the water park the first day. Stay elsewhere the first day or two, you are already in Disney and can do that water park, opening to close. That's an excellent point and a wise use of a Disney $190 fee. Totally worthy of the fee to take advantage of that perk. Not for me because water parks are not my thing, but Rick, the kids and grandkids are all water fiends.

Even with a day or two depending on which parks you want to do those deluxe evening hours can make a tremendous difference.
We absolutely hate extended hours. Everyone from all four parks goes to the park with extended hours and wait times for rides typically double. In addition most food Places are closed. Several rides usually will also close down at regular time.

This has also been our experience the few times we have gone to a park with extended hours.

If it's Epcot, I don't even bother—just walking between the rides takes up time. I have had good luck at MK, though, as you said, no restaurants are open.
