Offering $300, 40K Bonvoy or free night. Anyone do one there recently? Told agent 40K wouldn’t get you an afternoon anywhere!

40K seems to be about the average across many resorts/properties.

40k isn’t bad especially if you are trying to build your account. Value alone is $320-400+

40K isn’t bad. I got 50k in Vegas a couple months ago, but that was the first time I was ever offered more than 40k. Ocean Pointe didn’t invite me at all a couple weeks ago. She started to and then said never mind doesn’t look like you are eligible for a gift this time…

Yeah, 40K on its own doesn't necessarily have a lot of utility. Adding it to points we already have, points from credit card spend and points from all the other tours we take, then we can really do something with it.

Free night is a new one that I have never been offered or read about. What category room or any restrictions for free night? Would like more information on the free night offering.

So did the "free night" have a time limitation for use? i.e. must be used with "X" amount of months?

40K Bonvoy Points is worth about $440 to me since I've been getting around 1.1 cents a point on average. Obviously, YMMV.

Whether or not 40K points gets you a night in a hotel you like doesn't matter - the question is how much you have to pay in cash vs points.

I am going Wednesday morning. Probably opt for the Bonvoy points (thx for the advice). No details given on the free night.

If it turns out to be a 85K FNC, that might be worth it to you. I can't hurt to ask...but I would certainly take points over a random FNC.

I would take the $300 to use for great meals in the area.
Man after my own heart! $300 works very well for dinners out, especially since the OP will be at Custom House, within a 10-minute walk to North End!!!!!!
Maybe he/she will PM me for my Restaurant List for Boston's North End------there are some fantastic restaurants there and I know where they are!
Or maybe they already know, whatever, but nevertheless, it makes my mouth water just to think about it.

But bottom line, accepting a $300 gift card is a no-brainer.
That will provide several delightful memories, or at worst two, and dinner in North End is what's so special about being in Boston in that amazing location.

Got the same offer $300/ 40K Bonvoy points at Custom House. We are absolutely not going to buy more points-- we can barely use the 11K what we have.

We feel bad about wasting Sales Team time in these " Owners Updates", but the Advance Team caller said there was " new information about the Hotel Program", and that the Pulse Program was going away.

Anyone have recent experience with a Sales Presentation at a Pulse, and is there really anything new to learn?

Not from a pulse presentation, but there are going to be several new city locations, beyond the Charleston and Savannah that I already knew about. Some very good! Nashville, New Orleans, Seattle, Napa, Chicago, and a new tower at Grand chateaux Las Vegas.

Absolutely nothing new to learn. The Pulse name has gone away. All the former Pulse properties are "city collection" resorts now

aid there was " new information about the Hotel Program", and that the Pulse Program was going away...

Sometimes I have to admire the ingenuity of MVC salesweasels.

Yes, if "going away" means being renamed the "City Collection" and expanded with locations in Waikiki, Charleston, and Savannah (though the last two will actually be called Westin and not Marriott).

Actually I usually avoid these presentations myself but couldn't pass up the $300 offering at the Custom House a few days ago on Saturday, August 10th, 2024.....

Nothing new going on other than the salesperson said that soon many of the Marriott Hotel properties will begin to accept Destination Club points as another form of currency for making (and paying for) hotel reservations. Salesperson was nsure when that is to begin.

Also, Marriott will be doing another Resort in Napa Valley (and no specific date provided).

Spend the 90 minutes, take the $300 and go enjoy!

I always wonder if their higher ups give them these talking points or just leave it up to the individual marketing people to come up with these lines.

I'll take category Timeshare updates, for $300 Alex!

Was at a presentation at Grand Chateau in April and the sales person advised us that the 4th tower at Grand Chateau would not be built due to lack of parking. They are having difficulty with parking with the current 3 towers.

I got offered 60,000 bonvoy points or $350 Visa card at SBP for going to presentation not the early peak times. So I chose 11:45. Took 60,000 points as I am trying to reload my points to go the Turks and Caicos.
