If staying at Marriott Boston Custom House.....is there any alternative around the $49/day valet parking fee? Nearly $350 parking charge for a week is steep.

Weekends there are inexpensive parking choices within a few blocks. We've used the https://www.bestparking.com/boston-ma-parking/ app on IPhone to book them at a reduced price. There are other apps you can install and sometimes one or another has a better deal or discount code.

Monday to Friday we used to leave our car for the week at the big parking lot at Wonderland station, eight stops up the Blue Line from Aquarium station. I don't think I would do that in the coronavirus era though.

I haven't booked it yet, but thanks for the info. Yes, we would be driving from PA.

To be honest with you, unless you are planning on going in and out of the city every day then you really don't need and don't want to have your vehicle in the city. As you correctly pointed out, daily parking costs do add up quickly. Marriott's Custom House is located at the Aquarium Subway stop on the MBTA Blue Line, and from there you can easily get around on the user friendly subway system.

Your best bet could be to park on the outskirts of the city and take "the T" (MBTA Subway System). Such locations are Alewife in Cambridge (Red Line), Riverside in Newton (Green Line), Wonderland in Revere (Blue Line) and the Braintree Terminus on the Red Line. On the Commuter Rail System (Purple Line) you can park at the Anderson Regional Transportation Center in Woburn for a quick and easy connection. You can Google any of these particular locations and obtain further information.

Enjoy your stay in this very historic location!

I recomend renting a car to drive up to Boston. Check into the hotel, drop off the luggage and then drop off the rental car at Logan. You can catch the shuttle bus from the car rental center to the subway (The T). There is a subway stop about a block from the hotel. You can do the same thing when departing. I did this. It's pretty easy to do and might take 1.5 hours round trip if the traffic is really bad.

I agree, you really don’t need a car, unless you want to drive your good buddy Moddy around.

Ha Ha....yes Dude, we've had your car there a few times at Custom House, haven't we my good friend?!!!!!!

FYI, "Moddy" is what my usual Boston driver calls me....("Marty" with his Boston accent, love that guy)
He takes me from Logan to CH, and back.

I just booked Custom House June 26 - July 3. I re-traded my June 13 MMO 2 bedroom ocean front unit for it. I'll probably never get that trade again, but ....oh well. As I said on another thread, if the islands are just opening up in June after the lockdown, there will still be restrictions (mask, social distancing, no activities, limited restaurants and stores open.) I would rather wait for the full experience.
At least we can drive to Boston. Thanks for the parking tips!
