I was wondering if anyone is currently at or recently visited the Maui Ocean Club and can tell me what is open and closed in terms of facilities and food service.

Here you go
Looks like Starbucks is open 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the marketplace is open, and two of the pool bars serve drinks with no sitting standing.

That's it

Just about everything is open down at whalers village with just an hours and lots of local restaurants are open

If you have any other questions, let me know I was at Westin last week and I'm at the MOC Lahaina towers this week.

oh, and just for the record, I picked up a two bedroom portion of a three bedroom dedicated oceanfront with an expiring WorldMark deposit......
That's the best part of covid so far

Am at MOC now so happy to answer questions also.

Starbuck is 6:30-11:30 am.

The pool bar (open 10-5) has some stand-up surfboard shaped stand up tables (only a few and it is 1 (presumably related party) per table. I have used them when there are no pool lounge chairs left, which is often. They have a $2.00 off alcoholic drink happy hour 4-5 pm.

The store off the lobby is open either 8 or 9 am - 5 pm, but although they have some basic food available (things like peanut butter and potato chips) and some very limited wine and spirits, there is no fresh food of any kind, not even lemons or applies no deli, no coffee etc. It is a decent sized store but mostly filled clothes, jewelry and nice enough tchotchkes. Everything in there seems quite pricey (wine/alcohol plan on paying at least 2-2.5 times what it would be at Safeway).

Is there food and drink service at the pool or you need to go the bar itself and does the marketplace offer hot food for lunch?

Yes, I see staff delivering drinks and the food comes to the bar in bags from the eatery next to Starbucks and I think they deliver that too (or maybe the bags were only for to-go). But there is service.

And if by the Marketplace you mean the general store off the lobby, no. No hot (or cold) food that is not packaged anytime. Starbucks in the morning and the pool bar in the afternoon are it for food. Nothing available on site after 5 pm for dinner.

What floor is that from?

We are here at MOC this week as well. So far it seems pretty nice to us. We drove over to Wailea, and stopped in at the Grand Wailea, that seemed very sad with very little open.. Think there was only one place to eat, and it felt deserted.

Guess time share folks are are more anxious to travel than hotel guests..

Been here a couple of weeks. Amazing place, as you know. Food available from Beachwalk includes hamburgers, fish and chips, nachos, pizza, hot dogs....pretty normal except they aren't doing the special dinners cooked outside like the terriyaki night, the rib night, prime rib, etc. The Kaanapali Grill remains closed, differing opinions on whether it will reopen or not; However, most local restaurants are open like Hula Grill, Monkeypods, Lelanie's, etc. Dukes just reopened. Many restaurants do takeout or delivery. Panda Express, Star Noodle (now in Lahaina). Pizza will deliver, but you have to meet at the bell desk or by the door. Had a nice dinner at Roys, with limited seating due to social distancing rules, reservation for dinner mandatory (cause they're seating fewer). Grills are available, but community kitchen currently still closed. Had lunch by the pool, served by waiter/waitress strolling around happy hour time. The general store in the lobby has a few frozen items and groceries, pretty much like normal. (They've never had prepared food). Periodic music by the pool in afternoon (singer/guitarist), but no hula show on Thursdays, or health classes. Lady who administers gym said maybe soon for water aerobics. They are beginning rehab of the Napili garage to install gates, keyed to those actually staying in Napili tower. Lots of activity on tennis court, paddleball, basketball, tennis. Wouldn't let slight inconveniences get in the way of a fabulous vacation.

Thanks for all the updates! Is there any indication of when the community kitchen might open? We use this A LOT for preparing breakfast (i.e. eggs, pancakes, etc).

We just received confirmation for a trip in July. We were super excited until we read the travel requirements of negative tests and downloading a tracking app. Just wondering from your experiences how challenging the process of getting to Maui was for you? Also, I read for inter island travel a person must have a negative test before leaving Maui. Do you know if there are quick test sites available close by?

Lastly, just wondering how strictly enforced the mask wearing is while at the pool or in the beach/ocean?

There is good information being constantly updated on the Hawaii forum here https://tugbbs.com/forums/forums/us-hawaii-timesharing.22/
There is a thread on inter-island testing https://tugbbs.com/forums/threads/inter-island-covid-19-testing-sites-information.314492/

As for you question depends on Island, nothing required to go to Oahu (inter-Island), Kauai requires you to be in State of Hawaii for 72 hours then get a test within 72 hours of travel to Kauai. Big Island has own rules but I am not planning to go there so haven't been following. The Hawaii Main Covid site has all the details. And also, since it is July will probably all be different by then including a rumor that in Spring you may be able to get a Vaccine pass (but of course they said in Dec, they would allow that maybe in Feb so who know).
Suggest you keep an eye and plan testing etc as late May/early June hits.

I am the one who started the thread on inter-island posting and will be going tomorrow to get our tests for our flight to Kauai on Saturday. Will post how it goes! (The woman at Doctors On Call was very nice and it sounds like an easy process, and is right up the road from MOC.)

We just got a match for MMO, and it's oceanfront. This was an II exchange. I cancelled a week at the Diamond resort that I did have. I am so glad I have that oceanfront view at the Maui Marriott, even if it is the older towers. Our kids will be at Westin Nanea, not a walk we can even do from MMO. I guess we will be driving back and forth to see them. Woohoo! Love the Marriott and always wanted to stay there.

Great trade, congratulations. I think the OF views from the original Maui suites are the best on Kaanapali, I prefer that over the newer Marriott purpose built buildings.

Maybe you can't walk that far, your kids should be able to walk to you :)

I was on Maui for almost 2 months, just got home yesterday. I was in the original building for 5 weeks and I bought a portable double burner for $20, well worth the money spent, you may want to consider it. I gave it away before I left for home.

FWIW, we are quite enjoying our stay in the older towers. We have two bathrooms, the units are large (no huge spa tub), the kitchens quite functional despite no stovetop/oven (3/4 size frig, a dishwasher, plenty of kitchen storage) and there is a lovely laundry room on the lower level. We also lucked out with the OF view this week.
