Here is my thoughts and experience.
Enrollment is easy choice if you: Lock-off, Trade and own more than one week.
If you can get the cheap rate makes it easy.
With only one week, not sure it is worth it.
For me, I have two week that are both lock-offs.
Even staying at one of them, still tend to end up with a backlog in II of so many weeks.
I exchanged for points.
If you can avoid a Fri or Sat night stay, points are good value.
But like the magic II book, the points world is lot of sales talk and some reality when you want to use.
My wife needed Vegas for a meeting. Nothing was showing up in II, so I used points to book. As the date got closer on the 62 days out, it showed up on II. Booked 3 bedroom with my 1bd, canceled my points res and we are happy.
Was nice because she could offer invitations and book travel much earlier because we knew we had the points - but in the end, the II trade was a better value.
My trip next week is the opposite. Change of plans and family want to do Disney. Nothing in II on short notice. We are going Sun-Fri, so I checked points. Got 2 bedroom for small points amount. So the flexibility worked - and much better value than having to exchange a week for 5 days.
So like most of time shares it depends.
If you are flexible, have multiple weeks, lock-offs and trade often - go for it.
