Just got this test via email and it was interesting. I was happy to see that I got all the answers right. At the end you can see graphs of the results based on the ages and other demographics of those who took the test.

I missed three. I did know I should have fixed one, though. The other two I really didn't know. (England's Prime MInister, and Chief Justice (!))

Another 100%'er here.

But I have always been a current events type of geek. Though, the older I have become, the less I have been concerned about current events. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing or normal or abnormal.

I, too, got 100% correct. Thanks for sharing this quiz. It was fun, and I signed up for the newsletter.

Steve

OK I'm embarrassed. The TARP question, of all things. Should have spent a little more time thinking about that one. And Great Britain. Would have been a guess no matter what.

I had to think a bit before I could answer a few of the questions - but I got 100% too. I rarely watch TV news, but I do listen to Public Radio for part of my work commute and read a daily newspaper, so that must be keeping me informed.

I signed up for the Pew Research newsletter, too. I often hear results of the surveys they do, so thought their newsletter might be interesting.

You know quizes such as the one provided by the OP are good for those of us who are in retirement. As we get older our brains  sometimes get kinked up.

My result in the above quiz was affected by the fact that I rarely care much about what happens in the political arena of other countries. Therefore, I missed one. Just could not guess correctly even though I knew that their had been a new English Prime Minister installed within the last 12 months.

Brain teasers are good for anyone to help keep them sharp.

For those looking for a great exercise try this one out:

The Site: www.sheppardsoftware.com was designed to help elementary school age children with various learning curves; but it can also be a challenge for those of us who need the exercise

The link above will take you to a BLANK map of the United States.

To begin the exercise you have to LEFT click on the State Map that first appears and drag it to the appropriate place within the outline of the United States MAP. That is easy enough; but what happens when the software randomally brings up different State Maps for insertion in the proper place.

The goal is to get each State Map into it's correct location as quickly as possible. Yeah you can do that too; but how quickly.

Have Fun!

Wow you guys are smart! I missed the World Cup Question, The Current Commander in Afganstan the depth of the oil leak and the prime minister of Great Britian

Still not that bad, i scored about 60% of the public

100% here, although I had to think about the TARP question-I think it was one of the last things GWB signed.

Given that according to the results only 5% got all the questions right, the TUG community is definitely smarter than average. :)

I also got 100% but I don't think that this shows anything unusual about Tuggers. I bet that only 5% of Tuggers are posting in this topic. I don't see anyone bragging about getting 1 or 2 correct.

But the results page is sort of reminiscent of Jay Leno's 'Jaywalking' mentality given that almost 50% of those taking the quiz got less than 5 answers correct  :(

I only got 7/11 but as a Canadian there were a lot of questions that unless you really follow US news people wouldn't guess. I don't know how you figured out which ones you got wrong.

On the page that shows your score, over on the left are some choices you can click on. One of them is "How you did, question by question." Click on that and it will show you each question and the correct answer on each one.

I don't know how you figured out which ones you got wrong. Joan

After you finish and see the bar graph, on the left side, you'll see a link to "How you did, question by question." Click it.

I got 100% too - guess I surf the net too much!

Another 100% here.

And while admittedly those posting here are a self-selected sample, I also believe that TUGgers are far above average in intelligence!

100% here, but I'm a political news junkie & many of these had a political component.

If I had had to fill-in-the-blank for the British PM I wouldn't have gotten it, but knew Branson is the Virgin Airways guy & Hayward was the BP guy & Merkel is German so by process of elimination it had to be Cameron.
