Hi,
We are going to Vegas in August and thought we might enjoy seeing Criss Angel perform. Has anyone here seen his show and do you think a family with two teenage sons would enjoy going? Tickets are a bit expensive, so I was hoping to hear if it is worth the money.
Thanks, Sue

I haven't been but it only gets 2 stars on Yelp. I have also heard other negatives about the show. But of course everyone's taste is different.

We just saw it a few months ago and I was not impressed. I think he is a big draw for the younger crowd. Only go if your teenage kids really want to see it. The best show I have seen in years was Terry Fator at the Mirage.

It is a great family show with good values.

Another family show is America's got talent at the Palazzo. It is less money and a good value. http://www.yelp.com/biz/americas-got-talent-live-las-vegas

But, Terry Fator is the best. See that if you can.

I think Ka was at the discount half price stands and it is a unique theater and show that teenagers would like.

Thanks for the feedback. One more question. I know this has been mentioned before, but what tour company is recommended? We want to tour Hoover Dam and Lake Meade. Also, we might think about the Grand Canyon. We did go to the Grand Canyon when we visited Arizona several years ago, but we were not impressed by the bus tour we took. All information is very appreciated. We will not have a car, so we are looking at arranging tours.
Thank you, Sue

With a family of four, rent a car. You do not need a tour to visit the dam. It will be a lot cheaper that way. Also, I highly recommend that you drive up to Valleys of Fire and see that, drive out the east exit and drive along the lake until you get to the dam. That might be a two day trip if you want to spend a lot of time at the visitor's center at the dam or if you want to spend time hiking around the Valleys of Fire park. If you just want to see a little of everything, it can be done in one day. The tour at the dam is very worth while and highly recommended.

The Grand Canyon proper is like an eight hour drive from here. Not sure I'd do that without planning an overnight there.

Hoover Damn is an easy 45 minute drive. Vegas is easy to drive in and around (except maybe the Strip on the weekend). Even renting a car for a day or two is cheap and easy.
