Costco changes manufacturer for Kirkland Signature diapers

I absolutely love Costco. And I think H-E-B is pretty awesome too. When I leave the state and have to shop at other grocery stores I wonder how do people manage.

We discovered H-E-B when we were in Hunt TX for the Eclipse. Loved their packaged fresh Dinners. A carb, a protein, and a vegetable. Great variety. Our Safeways have started something similar but higher priced and not as much variety.

Back to the diapers conversation.....Kimberly Clark was very clear that they want to focus on quality when announcing that the contract wasn't renewed. That's just jargon. The Costco order represented an annualized 2% of their total sales. Those headwinds heading into a new year don't magically reappear so you need to tell the share holders something. The bottom line is that Costco has enormous buying power and dictates price most of the time. The real killer to Kimberly Clark will be if/when Costco stops selling Huggies.

That's a great illustration of just how challenging self-control can be for many of us, especially when we find ourselves in shopping situations! It’s fascinating to observe the ways in which impulse purchases can easily capture our attention and lead us to buy things we didn’t initially plan on. The layout of a store, promotions, and even the presence of exciting new products can trigger that urge to spend. However, if you've found a way to navigate these temptations successfully and it benefits you, that’s truly wonderful! Being mindful of our spending habits and recognizing what works for us can make a significant difference in how we approach shopping.

Costco Is Crushing It With Its $20 Pants

Its Kirkland brand is a behemoth, bigger even than Procter & Gamble

Costco was recently sued by Lululemon for allegedly selling cheap knockoffs of the athleisure brand’s premium clothing. One of those products is a pair of comfortable,
fashionable, wildly popular Lululemon men’s pants that came out a decade ago and cost $128. A few years ago, Costco began selling a version of those pants that looked and felt awfully similar—for $20.

And you don’t exactly need a law degree to read this legal document and see why so many people are so completely obsessed with Costco. Those pants were part of the Kirkland Signature private label, which is based on a simple but powerful idea: sell products of a high quality at a low price. With that philosophy, Kirkland has become essential to Costco’s success
