You can also sell timeshares on Redweek and the HGVC corporate line is any resale sites are scams, they want people to buy retail.

Was anyone here able to actually sell Super Bowl booking on Koala/Redweek? How much did it go for?

The problem with renting reservations like the Super Bowl is that no one knows who will be in it until two weeks prior. Most people go because their team is in the game. People tend to find that rentals are sluggish up till those two weeks before and they are taking a big risk hoping to rent it for bigger dollars once the game is set. The game is also on a Sunday, not many people want a week long reservation for something like that.

The one Super Bowl I went to was in 2003 (2002 season). A friend had connections and we got tickets long before we knew who would be in it. I mean, it's the Super Bowl. Ended up being the Buccaneers and the Raiders (and we live in the Bay Area). Not a Bay Area team fan, but it was still fun having the local boys in the game. And even more fun that they got their butts handed to them.

Cheers.

But did you stay for the whole week? Even if you did, most people don't.

I didn't. But this was about the point that there is not interest in going because it's the Super Bowl, regardless of team, rather than the length of stay.

I agree about length of stay, especially in Vegas. I'd almost prefer to remove my own liver with a rusty butter knife than stay in Vegas for a week.

Cheers.

While there may be interest in going even if your team isn't playing, it doesn't seem to drive demand for timeshare rentals. I was simply sharing experiences others have posted about weak demand for timeshare rentals and why that may be the case. Many people are sitting on unrented reservations up till days before the event.

i wonder if folks are nervous or confused with disney pulling the plug on their $1B project in florida?
THat project was unrelated to the parks. So I doubt that has anything to do with it. I think demand is just down for Disney park travel. People are disneyed out...

I just had a posting go up on Koala. It appears they charge the renter 10% of the rental amount.

In my experience trying to rent out a Super Bowl week is not that great if you are trying to rent a standard week reservation. People will be looking to rent 3 or 4 nights at the most. I ended up splitting a week a few years ago between 2 renters and it worked out but not worth the effort. In would avoid reserving a week to rent solely because a Super Bowl happens to be nearby

Nope, but I did get my points back. The HGV insurance came through. A year of checking my email every day. I posted on Redweek, Craigslist, EBay, Tug of course, eBay and VRBO. I lowered the price the last few weeks. I saw others sold on Redweek for the same … maybe I would have sold on Redweek if I hadn’t listed it with the “fully managed” option and had waited until the teams were picked. By time the teams were picked, my ad was so old it was down at the bottom and then they pulled it two days later because fully managed means they can’t wait until the last minute. When I tried to post it myself I couldn’t get the verified badge. Over the year I was offered $800 by two different folks and one more generous fellow offered I think it was $1000. My maintenance is $1200. One of the $800 offers came from ebay. Other two from TUG. Well anyway, a learning experience and never again,
