Converting Annual to EOY

We own a 2bedroom annual at SVV Bella Mandatory today. I'm considering selling it and buying a new 2bed LO EOY at SVV mandatory phase or maybe 1bedroom premium. The family loves disney, but would prefer to stay on property more and I can usually only take off about 2.5 weeks a year. We like the ownership, especially exchanges to haborside, Westin Riverfront, and St John via svn. Plus access to getaways on II are great, but I feel a bit pressed to use so many points every year. Anyone have thoughts on switching to EOY? is it worth the effort?

Separate question, i booked an II getaway at marriott grande vista that i cannot use now, are you supposed to just cancel it or just not show up?

Look for a one bedroom unit, with an EOY as your only unit you’ll pay the VSN membership fee every year even on your non use year. You’ll be able to bank points still but won’t be able to pull them forward unless it’s in a like year. When you bank you can use in the following non use year.
To my knowledge they never sold the one bedroom premium unit at SVV. So you’ll likely only find a one bedroom at 44K star options annually.

The mandatory points can be banked and used anytime in the next 3 years.

So EOY points can be used at 8 months in the other year.

You can see if you can do a retrade on your Getaway. I had to cancel a RCI getaway and was charged a 20% cancellation fee.

So maintenance fee split in half + $155 svn fee annually. What happens to II getaways in your account if you sell before using them?

Looks like that is policy at RCI, to refund.
* When cancellation is made 61 days or more before the start date, you will receive a refund equal to 70% of the purchase price.

* When cancellation is made 15 to 60 days before the start date, you will receive a refund equal to 50% of the purchase price.

* When cancellation is made 14 days or fewer from the start date of any reservation, no portion of the purchase price will be refunded.

I called II, they said no refunds, but i didn't think to ask if i could retrade it. Will try. Thanks.

Of course, with an annual week, one will instead probably have to pay a banking fee (currently $109) in order to properly utilise the points. Of course the banking fee is cheaper than the VSN fee, so you perhaps save a little going with the 1BR units. Problem is that 1BR units are super rare where 2BR LO units are a little more plentiful.

I’d assume you’re getaway is booked, that reservation shouldn’t be touched. If it makes you feel better, buy before you sell

True, I forgot about the whole banking fee.
