Conversion to MR points - timeframe?

Hi

I need another 45,000 Marriott Rewards points for a hotel award stay we want to reserve. I have a 2012 reservation that I did an exchange for. I want to turn my 2013 usage year into Marriott Rewards points.

How soon can I do this? Is it possible to do it on January 1, 2012? If so, when can I expect to see those points show up in my account?

Appreciate the help. If it is something that would take a long time, I would simply buy those points from Marriott.

You can buy 50,000 pts right now and again January 2nd for 100,000 pts on the Marriott rewards site for $0.0125 per point.

Double that if you have a spouse who is a MR member.

That way you don't have to give up your week.

You can trade the use of your 2013 week for points anytime during 2012. However, don't expect to see the points added to your MR account until September.

Thanks Dave. I'll buy the points today. Looking to stay at the Ritz Central Park again - my favorite use of Marriott points.
