Has anyone heard of Contract Resolution Group? They are a group that supposedly has a legal network that will work with timeshare owners to not only get them out of timeshares but also will get your investment costs back, minus their legal fees. They estimate their legal fees to be around 30%. The fishy part is that they want a retainer of around $5,000. They have a contract that guarantees your retainer is returned if they don’t get your timeshare investment costs returned. They are not accredited on Better Business Bureau and only have 6 ratings on that site. All are 5-stars, but they could obviously be fake. Thay only have 5 Google reviews as well. Please let me know if you know this group and whether or not they’re legitimate.

Here on TUG, we generally do not recommend any company that claims it can supposedly cancel your TS or membership, especially if they want an upfront fee. Most are scams. Mid-range, they'll use illegal or questionable means to end your membership or ownership. Even in the best case scenario, they'll charge you thousands of dollars to do something you can do yourself for a lot less money.

If you want to get out of your TS, here are three suggestions:

1) Try selling it. But since you are ready to pay some questionable company to get rid of it, you probably already recognize that your TS is probably worth zero dollars on the resale market.
2) Try giving it away here on TUG's Bargain Deals section. Even if you offer to pay the closing costs and the next MF to the taker, that's still a lot less than the $5000 that this company wants.
3) Ask the resort to take the TS back. Many resorts and TS systems have programs in place that will take owners' TSs back. They might charge closing costs but, again, that will be a lot cheaper than paying some questionable company $5000.

Heckuva deal! What could go wrong?

There is zero chance that this is true. ZERO. The various timeshare developers are not about to give back the tens of thousands of dollars you paid them, no matter how strongly-worded the letter some random law firm sends them. I can think of several ways this goes sideways, from "we are sorry but our fees in your case were more than we expected" to just straight-up boiler room scam of a company that lasts a few months, maybe a year, before declaring bankruptcy and disappearing with the cash collected before re-forming under a new name and starting again.

I can think of 5000 reasons not to use Contract Resolution Group.

I don't know of any Lawyers that will work without a retainer unless its like personal injury or big cases. I paid them 3500.00 to just get Nantucket out of my name and they did that in 5 months but I wasnt trying to get money back so I cant speak to that. I can tell you I am not one of the people that gave them a review but they did what they said for me. That is just my personal experience with them. Jordan was the guy that worked our file. I only comment because I see you have a Diamond. We asked about diamond for my brother and they told us Diamond will let you out for free with a program on the diamond website. Hope this helps

ALL "entities" making this kind of offer are scammers - ALL OF THEM.

wow thats helpful comment. troll

Lighten up! You're new here so I'll forgive your inability to see sarcasm when it hits you upside the head. I invite you to read this thread from the top.

However, asking oneself "what could go wrong?" would be a pretty useful analytical approach to this kind of contact.

Also, Diamond's deedback program costs $1,000 and Diamond only takes contracts purchased from Diamond. If Contract Resolution Group did so well, why do you still show Branson Nantucket as a resort owned? That you are touting this company makes me think, SHILL ALERT!!

I find it ironic that someone who joined today is calling anyone a troll. Particularly ironic when their first post is to recommend paying upfront money to a timeshare exit company with no track record.

Perhaps I am am simply getting too old and skeptical.

I will just say it isn’t typical for someone who paid $3500 to rid themselves of a timeshare to join a forum after the fact, search out threads specific to the company they paid $3500 too, and post a glowing review. What is more typical is a fake poster doing so to promote their company.

Now I can’t say which of these two you are, I can only speculate based on experience.

This Contract Resolution Group, LLC, is based in Florida. Searching the state of Florida, there is no entity by that name listed as an LLC. Looks to me like they are operating illegally. Is this who you want to give thousands of dollars to in return for their promise?

Edited to add after more research:

Despite the shill's claim, this certainly looks like a scam for these reasons:
  • State of Florida has no record of this LLC.
  • According to the Florida BBB file, the owner is Robert Tuck. Googling Contract Resolution Group, LLC you will find them also in Branson, MO. And just like in Florida there is no LLC by the name listed with the state of MO. The phone number for the Branson company is 800 516-8770. That number goes to another out of business company in Branson called Resort Deed Transfer and also Worldnet Consultant Group, LLC. Worldnet's LLC was created in 2021 with the organizer being Carmen Albert. Carmen was also associated with Resort Deed Transfer. Now, we are coming full circle here. The website for Contract Resolution Group, LLC is cancellationexpert.com. If you click on the "Contact Us" page of that website the link that I copy and paste actually shows Resort Deed Transfer (see blue link here) - Resort Deed Transfer, llc (cancellationexpert.com)
  • There is an identical website under a completely different name - Consulting - WM Consultant Services LLC
  • They have a sloppy website. Under the "Contact Us" they misspelled their own name - CONTRACT RESOLVATION GROUP, LLC

@STLBBB I wanted to include you here since there is a connection with Missouri. Not sure if you have ever come across Robert Tuck, Resort Deed Transfer or Contract Resolution Group. I also have a question about the FL BBB file - Contract Resolution Group, LLC | Better Business Bureau® Profile (bbb.org) . The BBB file states that the LLC was incorporated 7/9/19. However, I find no LLC in Florida under that name (domestic or foreign). Any idea where the Florida BBB is picking that information up?

Im guessing both the original poster and the shill are one in the same. Funny how they both own the same Branson Nantucket resort in their profiles....

They both joined within weeks of one another, found each other in this forum to discuss a property they both have. The second poster signs up and offers his opinion of the company on the day his account was created. This is a poorly orchestrated scam attempt with a complete lack of effort.
