My wife and I have Wyndham Resort share which we bought over 10 years ago and have enjoyed them. This year my wife passed away and now I have no need for these shares. In addition, since I have gone through most of our finances in providing support for my wife during her illness, I would like to find a way to cancel our contract with Wyndham. Any help in this matter would be very much appreciated.

If your timeshare is not paid off, Wyndham has another program which is meant to help customers who have had significant changes in their lives.

https://www.myclubwyndham.com/mycw/owner-101/wyndham-cares.page

This program is an attempt to get customers to contact Wyndham directly - instead of going to 3rd party cancellation firms which mess up both Wyndham and the customer. Good luck.

Another possibility is if you contract is paid off, why not list it on TUG and give it away? At the very least, you would be out from under any future maintenance fees.....

Another thought, Fred, would be just to let it go to foreclosure. If you have no assets, you're probably judgement proof. They will make noises about wanting you to pay more and being the co-owner, you're responsible and yada-yada-yada, but I suspect at this stage, you probably need little credit, so a lowered score does you little to no damage. After they contact you for non-payment, offer them the deed in lieu of foreclosure.

We wish you well.

First, Fred ... Sorry for your loss. And still having the foresight to acknowledge your financial world has changed.

Was there something about the original Ovations program about some DIRECT BUYERS from Wyndham got some usage FREE for a set period of time for surrendering their ownerships?

Sorry for your loss.
Others havs given good advice already. Ill just add if they are paid off perhaps a family may want them? If not Ovations is probably the simplest way out.

It would be very helpful if you would post which resort or resorts you own at and how many points at each. If you have mid to lower maintenance fees there are plenty of Tuggers who would be glad to pay the closing and transfer costs to have them if you don't have other family interested in having them. Many of us have used LT Transfers and been very pleased with their services.

Fred, we are sorry for your loss and what you are going through now.
