Confused - What's the status of 2020 points?

Title says it all. I have a lot of 2020 points and would like to book in 2021. In a normal year, I'd have to first pay to save this year's points so I don't lose them. I haven't really been paying attention to the talk of 2019, 2020, 2021 points. I know that in some cases, the points are getting moved to where they can be used later. Is that the case for normal 2020 points? That is, if I book 2021 online now, will it use my 2020 points or do I need to do a save? Thanks.

You need to save 2020 points into 2021, in order to use them in a 2021 reservation.

Message on HGVC web site:

2020 ClubPoints: We are still evaluating how to address your abbreviated usage of this year’s ClubPoints. We are waiting until travel restrictions are lifted to consider our next step and how it will impact future inventory availability. Once we reach a decision, we will share it with you via email or through updates on this page.

I paid when the discount was offered through Mar. If they offer it for free I will go back and ask for a refund back, or ask them to roll it over to 2021 points, which I will have lots too.

Thanks. Now that you mention it, I recall seeing a message like this. The point about future availability is a good one. Everyone's building up a backlog of unused points right now. When the dam breaks, getting a ressie might be difficult.

... which is why I went ahead and used the rest of my 2020 points.
I recently booked HGVC for December and an RCI stay for 2021.
The rest of you's guys can fight over the crumbs. <shrug>

I paid as well and will as for the money back if they give it for free. They're already waiving reservation fees for free, and this is something I paid for in conjunction with my bHC dues. I'm letting that one go, but will not let both go. Actually, if I do need to eventually call about the Saving fee refund I may ask about the other as well while I'm at it.

Cheers.
