Hi - we are considering using up some of our club points to stay at one or two of the HGVC properties listed for Carlesbad, CA. We are in our 50's and traveling alone, so not interested in activities geared towards kids/families. We are new to both HGVC and to the timeshare world, so any guidance would be appreciaed. Does anyone have an update on when the Marbrisa property will be completed? . For those of you who are familiar with the general standard of the HGVC owed clubs, are these 3 up to par? Marbrisa looks inviting, but the other two not as much ... but it's hard to tell in just a few photographs. Thanks!

Sorry, I haven't been to the HGVC resorts in Carlsbad but here are some links to some older threads

Go with Marbrisa in your situation. Resort is complete in all respects, they are just adding more buildings, grand lobby and main swimming pool (which will be geared towards family, kids) is still being built. You have all fully functional resort facilities at marbrisa (pool, hot tub, gym, volley ball, tennis, room service, front desk, etc)

We are in our 50s, too, and went with our 2 kids(one who is also an SJU Hawk :)
to Grand Pacific Palisades. We found GPP to be a nice enough resort, but very focused on young family activities. My 2 college age kids were bored to tears. We toured Marbrisa-appears to be a little more upscale (although a bit farther away from the ocean).
