Combining SVN timeshare reservation with SPG booking?

Anyone have experience combining reservations for SVN timeshare booked on mystarcentral with a reservation booked on the regular SPG site?

My specific case example is that I want to book a SPG 5 night starpoint award reservation (5th night free special that they have when booking 5-night award reservations) at Sheraton Vistana Village for just a regular studio villa. Then I want to add 2 additional nights using some stranded Staroptions. Will the Resort be able to treat this as one reservation and let us stay in one unit rather than having to check-out and check back into the other reservation?

You will definitely have 2 separate reservations. You can't even combine 2 separate Staroption reservations, without cancelling them and making a new one.

The problem is that both reservations will have to be in the same phase - can you even choose the phase with the SPG reservation?

To increase your odds, call Starwood Owner Services with the SPG reservation number and ask them if they can put the request in the Staroption reservation notes.

Denise - thanks for the fast response. I figured one couldn't combine the reservations, but I was hoping the resort front desk could accommodate not having to check out and check back into a different unit. The SPG reservation does not have any choice or indication of phase or even what type of 1 BR unit (premium or regular). I'm SPG platinum (from hotel stays) but not sure if the resort would care since this is a timeshare resort and not a SPG hotel.
