I have read enough in this forum to understand that there are variety of ways to use timeshares, many of owners have different TS or multiple TS with the same company. My question is can timeshares with the same company be combined in some way?

For instance if I purchase two 4,800 Platinum instead of one 9,600 platinum - what are my options to use both 4,800 as one, for extended reservations, bigger units? I know that financially this way would mean 2x MF (roughly $700 x 2=$1,400/yr if in LV vs $900-$1000/yr if in LV with 9,600 Platinum 2 bdrm)? This would probably mean 2x$125 club dues every year as well, or are club dues per owner and not per TS?

Looking at Ebay it seems that it is reasonable to expect to find an annual 4,800 1bdrm in Platinum season in LV for around $2,000, hence $4,000 for two, while 7,000 Platinum in LV goes for around $7k, so $4k for 2x4,800 vs $7 for 9,600...? Am I missing something?

I've seen 10k packages sold that were two gold 2br 5k weeks, not regarded as a good deal IMO.

It's all a trade off in up front (sunk) costs vs ongoing usage costs, you might need to build a spreadsheet to see what total costs would be if you owned 10, 20, or 30yrs. How long would it take for the difference in mf from your example to overcome your initial purchase savings? $400 yr mf difference = 7.5 yrs to make up the $3k purchase savings.

You are correct that club fee $125 is per account, not weeks/points, all will be combined into one total for you to use as you wish.

I agree with a spreadhseet recommendation. It does come down to dollars and cents.

If I understand your asnwer correctly, it sounds that both 4,800 would be added up to one 9,600 account and I could use as if I had 9,600 Platinum with only difference that I would be paying 2xMFs of 4,800?

I did also see two 5,000 gold packages in one account (actually there is one on Ebay right now) but the notion of paying $2k+ MFs every year is not very attractive. I would rather look for 9,600 Platinum package even with a bigger upfront cost but lower MFs ($1,200 or so if in LV). But then again - everyone's goals and situations are different, so a spreadsheet would help..

Yes the point totals are added in your account as available to use.

The only restriction you would have is the home season (9-12 month booking advantage) would be for the 1br units, you would have to wait until 9 months to book a 2br 9600pt. That isn't a big deal if you are buying Vegas to trade elsewhere, you will be booking at 9 month anyway.

For the accounts to be combined, the owners names on both must be the same.
For points from an affiliate where HGVC use is an yearly option, a request must be made.
