yes, so if you get an Aspire AMEX CC, you both will get Diamond status.
Yup. We both have them since we make money on the cards, but the dual Diamond status is not an add.

Cheers.

Are two spouses eligible for Lifetime Diamond, if all requirements are reached?

My wife did not have an Honors account when we first purchased our HGV unit. Our 1st purchase was retail, and they automatically created a joint account under my number.

When I reached lifetime diamond a few years back, we both got lifetime diamond cards, access to the lifetime call center, etc. though we only received one set of Bose headphones as the gift.

I don't know about combining accounts, but you can pool HH points together for making reservations.

My wife and I both have a mutual Hilton Honors account. We both have Amex surpass and aspire cards and all the points go to the one account As well as free nights certificates

A year ago they told me you could pool the points.
The free nigths could be transferred.
Points pooling and manual transfers aren't the topic of this convo. :)

I've had success using my Amex/HHonors for wife's checkin. Use my card to book pay and add her to checkin notes.
Same here. No problems with that, it always worked for us too, but it's not what I'm asking.

If the accounts are truly joint, then the status, nights, etc. apply to both people. It does in our case with a joint account.
Thanks for confirming!

We both have Amex surpass and aspire cards and all the points go to the one account As well as free nights certificates
Thank you too!

I think I'll do the switcheroo after my wife's statement posts. With the statement dates being 10th, 18th, and 21st for each card she has, I'll do the switcheroo after the 21st. ~20 days should be enough to wrap things up on Hilton and Amex side.

If it's more convenient, you guys can also get Amex to harmonize the statement closing dates. I've done that across all my cards - Amex, Chase and Citi. Just makes life easier to set up billpay all for the same date each month.

Cheers.

I used to consolidate everything around the 15th, but given a weekly pay (myself) and every other week (wife), having it spread around randomly is actually more convenient. And an occasional $10K or $20K purchase can be strategically placed on one of our four different Aspire cards to get more time to pay it off interest-free. :) It helped several times during home remodel, or with my recent purchase/trade-in into HGVC Max ($14K or so).

I'm getting nowhere with it. The customer support are illiterate imbeciles that respond with random responses, similar to how we can still remember GPT-3.5. OR - there are really no joint accounts, and HH-corp needs to learn English and fix the wording in https://help.hilton.com/s/article/Can-I-set-up-a-joint-account, and HGVC must stop spreading nonsense about joint HH accounts that don't exist.

@brp Your thoughts on that? Do you guys indeed have a joint HH account? What proof is there for that? Anything visible on hilton.com? (if so, can you share a screenshot?) Does she have a Hilton Amex card with your shared HH number on file?

Is there anybody else here that has a joint HH account, and can share a proof of the account being joint? I need some ammunition to talk to these imbeciles.

--- NOWAKER

As per https://help.hilton.com/s/article/Can-I-set-up-a-joint-account, spouses who are owners of Hilton Grand Vacations Club are eligible to have their accounts held jointly.

Please explain the process of merging two spousal accounts together, and kindly answer the following questions:

1. How long from the time my wife and I request it, until it's done on your end?
2. What happens to the second account's HH number? Does it remain active? E.g. if it receives points for some reason (e.g. Amex card use), will they get automatically redirected to the main account?
3. How does it affect American Express cards? Both me and my wife have Amex Hilton cards. Do we need to update the HH number on the second card?
4. What happens to the points and free night certificates on the secondary account? Will they get transferred to the main account?
5. What happens to the base points and number of nights towards Lifetime Diamond status?

--- HH

Account Merging:
Husband and wife accounts cannot be merged.
Two accounts with different names cannot be merged.
Accounts with the same name can be merged.

--- NOWAKER

First, look at your own rules here: https://help.hilton.com/s/article/Can-I-set-up-a-joint-account. If I have a joint HGVC account (which I have), we can have a joint HH account. Get your facts together and stop responding with nonsense. Find someone who knows what they are talking about, a manager/supervisor, or something, because this is a joke.

--- HH

We regret that we cannot merge the two accounts as requested. However, our support team is available to help you combine your accounts. Please call them at 1 (800) 482-0047 for assistance.

--- NOWAKER

Not merge, but combine? Explain the difference.

--- HH

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by our previous response.
HGV members can have a joint account with their spouse’s name. We have confirmed that your wife’s name has already been added to your account.

--- NOWAKER

First of all, I have not asked you to perform any actions on my account. So if you changed anything, you must revert it, as I gave no authorization to make any changes.

Now, please answer my questions. As per https://help.hilton.com/s/article/Can-I-set-up-a-joint-account, spouses who are owners of Hilton Grand Vacations Club are eligible to have their HILTON HONORS accounts held jointly.

Please explain the process of merging two HILTON HONORS accounts together to form a JOINT SPOUSAL HH ACCOUNT, and kindly answer the following questions:

1. How long from the time my wife and I request it, until it's done on your end?
2. What happens to the second account's HH number? Does it remain active? E.g. if it receives points for some reason (e.g. Amex card use), will they get automatically redirected to the main account?

There is no changes in your active Hilton Honors account ending with ******.

A joint account means when a member is having a timeshare through the Hilton Grand Vacations Club with their spouses are referred as Hilton Grand vacation Joint/mutual account.

Since Hilton Honors accounts are for individuals, the only exception is for spouses who jointly hold an HGVC Joint/Mutual account. We are not able to merge individual accounts into your account ending with *********, as it is an HGVC/Joint/Mutual account.

The concerned team can merge two HGVC Joint/Mutual accounts, and we can merge two individual accounts that have the same name.

--- NOWAKER

This is INCORRECT.

> Can I set up a joint account?
> Hilton Honors accounts are available for individuals only. The only exception is for spouses who jointly own a timeshare through the Hilton Grand Vacations Club.

The topic pertains to joint accounts of HILTON HONORS. If spouses own HGVC, they can have a joint HILTON HONORS account.
When will I get someone who understands internal procedures? Please escalate it to the highest level, because I'm losing my patience.

Saver is coming,
login to your HGV account, go to help -> club navigator -> Club Forms -> Hilton Honors Mutual Fund Form.
then you are done.
it took me a week to have my wife appear on my account, yes, my account. She now has two HH accounts.

@Mr.G @Zenichiro Thank you. Just filled in.

And yes - HH support are indeed useless illiterates. They may not know about it (training problem) but they also can't read their own stuff, and provide wrong guidance.

Even though we have a joint account, bookings
are still in the name of the "primary" member,
but the "secondary" may be added for check-in.

It looks like this got answered while we were at Elara and the Sphere, but I did look at the Hilton.com account and there is nothing I can see that shows that this is joint. The only real relevant point is that mrs. brp's Aspire shares the same HHonors number and any points she accumulates go into the same account. Beyond that, I'm not sure that there is anything particularly relevant to jointness.

Cheers.

When you go to the Hilton site, account, members card, you don’t see both names listed? Should have Diamond HGV Club?

We had the exact same thing happen when we combined. However, I have recently purchased another resale week and all the sudden we both show up in hh and hgvc.

Mine only lists my name online. We do have a joint account, they set that up 15 plus years back when we first purchased our HGV. I have confirmed the joint account via message to hilton, and when I hit lifetime diamond, my wife got a similar package with the fancy card showing her as lifetime Diamond as well.

In the end, we almost always travel together, so it does not matter what displays online, she has the status and all of our points go to one bucket.

Same for us. Really doesn't matter, but only I show up on HHonors even though both cards feed this account. We are both on HGVC.

If you use HHonors App, go to Account->Hilton Honors Card you will see both the names there.

Yup, this worked. Thanks. I saw nothing on the website, but it showed up on the app, just as suggested!

Cheers.
