Are the coffee makers at WKORVN still the filter type or have they switched to pods?
Thanks.

They are the self-contained filter type and you will receive one regular and one decaf.

We just left WKORV and they had the pods. They gave us coffee every time we asked.

I have only stayed at North. In February they were regular basket style filter. May have changed. I would call.

I've noticed over staying at both properties each year for 15 years, they have a tendency to change coffee makers frequently. i would recommend calling a few days prior to your arrival to inquire which type is currently in use.

Gosh we hate the PODS. 1 cup at a time. Not a full coffee mug. Weak coffee.

We just left WKORVN on Wednesday and the coffee maker was NOT Pods but was the basket/filter type.

Sorry for the confusion i assumed by pods it was meant small bags of coffee which didn’t need a paper filter and not the Keurig type pods.
At WKORV they were not using pods but were using the packets of coffee that required no filter.

Our timeshare kit contains both basket filters and cone filters. Coffee filters weigh nothing and take up no space.

Be prepared -- a lesson l earned as a Boy Scout.

Here now in a renovated room. Flat bottom filters needed. Sold in the market for $2 if you forget to bring em... best deal down there, in my opinion...

Reviving an old thread... What kind of coffee makers are supplied in the rooms (WKORV) these days? (Wondering if we need filters, pods, or capsules?)

I think all the Westins are the basket-style (flat bottom) filters, but certainly WKORV is, or was when we were there at the end of 2022. I don't think there's been a soft goods remodel since then so I don't expect it has changed. Actually I don't expect it to change anytime in the foreseeable future, I don't think they would move to pods or capsules.

My experience in recent years is that they start you with a supply of filters in the room, maybe even a week's worth. When we were at WDW last month we never even had to break into the ones we brought. But I'd bring some to be safe (I'm sure they sell them in the market too.)

When I was at WKORV-N a couple of year ago, they left a few bags of coffee pre-measured in a filter pouch. It is sort of a round filter with coffee inside. It lays on the flat-bottomed holder of the coffee maker. I don't remember seeing standalone filters, but I didn't look closely. A local friend loaned me their Nespresso machine and I had pre-ordered some capsules for that.

Yes, they give you a couple packages of coffee (sometimes they are the “filter pods” you describe, sometimes they are a packet of ground coffee that you put into a filter. But I guess I’m a bit of a coffee snob, because the coffee they provide is usually pretty “meh” – drinkable, but not really enjoyable. One of our first stops is the grocery store to buy, among other things, some decent coffee.

On a related subject, they always have some pretty good Hawaiian coffee beans at the local Costco stores in Hawaii, and I always bring several bags home, you won’t find them on the mainland and if you do they’ll be a lot pricier. If you’re ever on the big island, it’s worth visiting and taking a tour of one or more of the coffee plantations/roasters and pick up some Kona coffee straight from the source. There's decent coffee from Kauai too.

WKORV-South has a regular drip coffee maker. You initially get two caf and one decaf ground coffee packets that come in filters already, and those are replenished at the midweek tidy, or you can always request more at no extra cost. If you prefer to bring your own ground beans, then sometimes you might get some filters, and sometimes you might not. We got some the first week, but not the second week. We bring our own and usually will buy freshly ground beans at The Coffee Store in Napili.

I have gotten coffee packets which were not in filters there, but they supplied several filters so it was a non-issue. But I think that was during the pandemic when there may have been supply chain issues. I know the manager at WDW told me that they were having trouble getting the coffee they usually used, and that was probably the case for WKORV too. I think last time they were back to the coffee-in-filter pack.

I haven’t been to the Coffee Store so I will give them a try!

The Coffee Store in Napili the one on the corner of a little wooden building complex across the street from the house with big back yard with the huge pig? We've seen them take the pig for a walk on a leash to the coffee shop...

Funny what brings back good memories!

Would very much appreciate an update - do both North and South still have drip coffee makers that take flat bottom filters (as opposed to cone shaped filters)?

Thank you!

Looking back at my YouTube videos from last year, the filters in the unit look to be flat bottom. They usually have enough filters to get you through or will give you more if needed.

I’m at South right now and we have a standard drip, flat bottom filter coffee maker, plus enough filters to maybe make 1 pot a day (I always bring extra filters) and a few packs of the complimentary coffee packs we never use.

Marriott and Westin have consistently had basket-type coffee makers and that is what they always have. I come prepared for that. BUT, you never know when they will change. Keurig coffee pods are not something I want to worry about at home or on vacation.

Wyndham uses Stay coffeemakers, which are Cuisinart and cone-type, which is fine because they give enough filters for every stay.
