We will be touring Coba in the morning, can any one reccomend a place to eat either by coba or by Tulum?
food safety is an issue... ever since one P. V.mexico trip ended in a bad H-pylori infection in both of us from some fish served to us in the resort reccomended mountain restaurant. Do not want to go through THAT again!!
thanks sally

There is a hotel at Coba called Villas Arqueologicas (a club med actually)which has a public restaurant that is quite good. It is probably the biggest and safest in Coba. There are couple of others near the entrance to the site, but, they may be a worry. Other than that you would have to wait until you get to Tulum.

You could eat at Coba. But, are also several restaurants on the strip in Tulum, one of which is quite well known with great food. Just can't remember the name off hand. Been there several times. Prices reasonable.

Actually if you can wait to eat, your best bet is in Tulum. There is an Italian place called Basilico, in town which is excellent. For a real treat there is Que Fresco, on the beach in the Zamas hotel, but, it may be hard to find. I have eaten at both places with my family, with no regrets.
