We have an RCI exchange booking starting Sunday, March 8 at Club Regina in Cabo. First week is in a 2 bedroom and the second week is in a 1 bedroom. It'll be our first time at the resort but we've been to Cabo a few times before. Questions:

1. We're in a wait and watch mode right now to see if we should go. I'm ok with going but the boss (wife) not so much. Would you go?
2. Transportation options from airport - thinking about taking Uber from the departure level. Any better option? Any cheaper option?
3. We're both relatively "fit" adults in our 50s so the stairs should be a nice challange for us. What else to expect at the resort?
4. Closest grocery store? Is anything within walking distance?
5. We'll be there for 10 days (the flights were very expensive if we were to stay any longer). We're thinking of going to San Jose del Cabo at least once and the Marina area at least once. We've been to Cabo before but not in the past several years - anything new within the last few years?
6. Is the local bus "ruta del desierto" still running? Is it a practical option to anywhere from the resort?

Thanks!

I haven’t stayed at Club Regina but I’ve stayed next door at the Westin several times. Unless things have changed (and they frequently do), Uber drivers are not allowed to pick-up airport passengers directly at the airport terminal, but you can walk out and meet them outside the airport perimeter. If you don’t want to take an uber, there are lots of airport transfer companies located in the area.

The resort is much closer to San Jose del Cabo than Cabo San Lucas, There was a lot of construction traffic outside of SanJose del Cabo when I visited in November so expect delays.

The beaches in front are beautiful, but the surf is too dangerous to swim in. I’ve walked through the resort and it was easy to get around. There’s a nice pool and I remember seeing golf carts shuttling people places.

The nearest grocery store is Fresko, and it’s very nice and big. It’s a short Uber ride from the resort. Walking there is impossible since it’s on a busy highway with no sidewalks.

San Jose del Cabo has a number of really nice restaurants, and the Thursday night art walk is definitely worth attending.

To get to the bus you have to walk 1/4 mile in the sun to the main highway, and if you’re going to Cabo you also need to cross it (no crosswalks). If it’s not too hot the walk isn’t too bad, but it’s usually pretty warm even in March.

We would go. We always rent a car. So no help on booking transportation.

We use to be Club Regina Members. This was our favorite Resort. I would negotiate with your transportation to stop at a Grocery Store on the way to Club Regina. They are totally rebuilding the Big Traffic Circle in San Jose del Cabo by the large Grocery Stores. Only 2 more years of Construction. This slows down traffic. Depending on day of the week and time of the day the traffic can back up for several miles. Club Regina is built on the Cliff Sides so every unit has a good ocean view. When we were there when the whales were there you could sit on your Patio' and watch the whales almost all day. There are 2 Pools. One by the Restaurant and one down at about Beach level. If you do not want to walk the Resort you can call for the Golf Carts. Use to be daily maid service. It has been several years since we stayed there. If you do any activities they will pick you up at the Resort and deliver you back afterwards.

For Uber at the airport, you can just go out from the arrivals area and walk up to where departures get dropped off; no need to leave airport grounds.
