Just got a call from an HGVC rep about (what else) a 3-night offer to Orlando or Vegas. During the conversation, he mentioned something called "Club Next" (or something similar), and said they were going to be converting some Hilton hotels in various cities to HGVC to provide more availability to HGVC members. Anybody on TUG heard about this?

It would be nice to see them expand. Every time I attend a presentation for free HH points, I point out the limited number of locations HGVC has chosen to concentrate. It's a good out since the most creative they've gotten is Myrtle Beach.

IOW, they'd "buy" a floor or two from their own hotels,
convert them into suites, and sell suites to the public?
The development $$ stays in house. ... Interesting ...

Let's hope they buy several floors so we have some availability. Let's also hope they are Conrad and W-A properties!

Hi - I haven't heard of this, but when we go to preview West 57th in NYC I will add that to my list of questions! Now that we are HGVC owners/members, we have a lot of questions for them while we have their undivided attention for 90 minutes :hysterical: . I do hope what you heard is true - HGVC desperately needs to add to their portfolio.

Did they offer you HH points for this one? Definitely ask about this, but be prepared to be sold not on the timeshare ownership, but on the 1:50 conversion of HGVC points to HH points. It's their angle there. It may be tough to get a straight answer as they keep spinning back to using your points at any hotel.

A good retort that I used was "Wow, that many HH points will get me 6 nights at the Hampton Inn in Tulsa!"

Yeah, don't be surprised when, instead of giving you answers, they spin a tale of how much more you could do, if only you had more points... "We could even put you in a place on Santorini!"... as if.

They won't say is that, for some trips, Hilton is not always the best option.

I would love to see more HGVC "properties" in locations other than Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Orlando! Maybe I need to break down and get some free stuff by listening to one of their "updates"... :ponder:

I talked to a rep a few weeks ago and that seems to be where HGVC is heading. He told me Chicago may be one of the first markets to test this. It makes sense. With all the resources of the Hilton chain, it would be an effective way to extend HGVC where is has no presence.
