It's been two months and 2 days since I received the news from Seth that he found the Grande Vista 3 bedroom I wanted. The Orange County comptroller's office recorded the deed two days ago. They said it will be a week before they get the deed back to the title company. I sent a note to the title company to see if they can pick up a copy of the recorded to deed and get it to Marriott. I'll then start to nudge Marriott's Owner Modification Department to register me as an owner. I'm waiting for the day I see my Grande Vista in my II account.

The whole process seems to be taking soooo long. I guess I'll never grow-up and accept the status quo

I have been waiting too!

The entire process does take a suprisingly long time. I am at the point where all the financials are done, final paperwork is at Title Company. What next? Why so long?

Got-it Boca!

I did not check online this morning because the Comptroller's Office told me on Monday that it takes about a week to image the deed. It's surprising how much private information is available on their website - scary.

Mine took somewhere around 60-90 days also before Marriott finally acknowledged the transfer. My guess as to why it takes so long is that the closing companies like to do this one step at a time. Probably because these are not big dollar value transactions for them so they need to do it in the most effecient manner possible. Doing it one step at a time will avoid wasted time on steps that might not be needed if the transaction falls through. Thats my guess.

Marriott took over 6 weeks to transfer the ownership into our name after receiving a copy of our deed.
