Hi all,

Can anyone tell me the cheapest place to park for 8 days at JFK? The offsite lots I am finding online are about $18/day plus 10% tax after online discounts. Someone has to have a secret to cheaper parking....

And I do not need or want to stay at an airport hotel the night before.

Thanks!

I know this won't answer your question, but have you considered a solution that avoids leaving a car at or near JFK? There are public lots by commuter rail stations (like in New Rochelle), private transfer services (Westchester Express), and one-way car-rentals (from White Plains airport). Just a thought.

Thanks Talent. Good ideas and appreciated but i have found a solution. I'll report back if this experience is negative in any way or overly positive, but after exhaustive google searching I found a guy who has started an LLC out of his residence which is a 15 minute drive to JFK. (he also services LaGuardia) He parks your car for 1/2 the price of the airport and the one company that has the monopoly on offsite parking at JFK. He offers free private shuttles to JFK (No waiting for busses, etc) in a town car and the same upon return. $62 for 7 days compared to $160 at the airport or offsite lots who also all take at least 15 minutes to shuttle you to your terminal. I like small business, as I am one, so I'll let you know how this goes!

Ya Mon!

FYI his website is airportparking1.com I am in no way affiliated with this company. But I hope to come back and tell you that it was great!

EDIT: Or I could just be handing my car over to a creative thief :) But I'm willing to take that chance!

Cool! I was just thinking: Someone in Brooklyn could make $$ on this.
You may want to make sure you have "comprehensive" insurance on the car.

Go with the Car Rental

Regarding the one-way car rental thing, that's become our new car service. With our corp discounted Hertz rate, we pay $50-60 for a one day one way car rental. This is a significant discount off a regular taxi to EWR for us, but less than half what a car service would cost to/from JFK! In addition, you avoid the taxi queue at the the airport.

Budget is usually cheaper even without a discount, but we stick with Hertz for status and points and corp included insurance. Don't bother pricing Enterprise, they charge an extra $100 for one way rentals.

The above poster mentions picking up at HPN, however, with many agencies, they have local offices, so you may be able to pick up and drop off closer to your home or office.

Edit: Ah, I see you have found another parking option, but you think you might want to listen to your instincts here, sounds too good to be true to me.
