Chase Sapphire Reserve is changing... Alternative cards with high points for MVC maintenance fee payments?

When I press on a specific Chase lounge (e.g. LaGuardia) it just shows me the lounge details with no further buttons to press (other than the "See digital membership card" on the bottom). Is "Collinson" another app? (I already have PP installed).
Not all lounges are bookable in the Chase lounge network.
Looks like PHX (being the tiny place, it is & the terrible user reviews due to awful wait times), was used as a GP (Guinea Pig) by Chase for reservations but looks like it is also broken currently...
I tried LGA, SAN & JFK & none of those offer to 'reserve a spot'. Try with PHX & you should see the link to 'reserve a spot', after you select the Chase Sapphire Lounge at PHX...
See if it works for you (it allows me to select date & time and start entering first & last name but doesn't have any fields for email etc, so can't complete the reservation)...
TY

*re CSR, can't book PHX lounge reservation: Bug on that website/app...
Called CSR cust svc; they are aware of this bug and told me to uninstall & reinstall the app or go to the Priority Pass website.
Did both; same issue.
PP website is fairly useless & does not allow one to make reservations..
Their app doesn't either :-(
Hope they fix it soon...

Rumor re Amex Platinum possibly moving from silly $50 Saks q6mo & mostly useless $300 Equinox credits to possibly useful Lululemon & Resy credits, but let's see what comes out..

There are credible rumors circulating that the Chase Sapphire Reserve (CSR) card will be getting a major overhaul this summer. One of the changes is that "Travel" category spending (other than travel booked within the Chase portal [10x], or direct bookings of hotels and flights [4x]) will no longer receive 3x points, and instead will just receive 1x points. In the past I have always used my CSR for my MVC maintenance fee payments. This gets coded as "Travel" by chase, which means my MF payments earn 3x points. Those Chase points are quite valuable to me, often completely paying for at least 2 business class international flights each year.

I do have the Marriott Boundless card, but for me Marriott Bonvoy points are far less valuable than Chase/AmEx/Citi/Capital One points which can be transferred to airline partners to book flights. The way I utilize points, a Chase point often gets me a value of about $0.10/point compared to Marriott points which for me are usually just worth $0.01 to $0.02/point, and which are far more limited in their potential uses.

Do you all have other cards you can recommend that earn at least 3x points on MVC MF payments? I do have the Citi Strata Premier which I believe gets 3x points on most travel, but I'm not sure if MF payments count as Travel for this card. I believe the Chase Ink Preferred Business card still gets 3x on Travel, and I suspect MF payments would count for this. The AmEx Green Card also advertises 3x points on Travel, can anyone here confirm if MVC MF payment fees earn 3x points with this card?

Thanks for any recommendations you all have.
I don't have any advice. I'm looking for advice on Marriott Bonvoy CC. My husband passed away. He has over 400,000 Bonvoy points. Lifetime Gold status. I have read that I can transfer points to my Bonvoy account. Lifetime status will not transfer to me. Which I do not have one. Which Bonvoy card should I get or how can I use these points without getting a CC. What's the best way to utilize these points. I have the Chase Preferred and Chase Freedom cards. I'm not a big traveler. Maybe 2 trips a year. I'm retiring October 1st. I would like to go to Greece Islands summer 2027. I only own one week Custom House. Platinum week. I really would like the best way to use points? I'm sorry I'm all over the place with this.

I love the Saks. Go buy a $50 gift card every six months then get something fun for the wife every couple years.
Our Toaster died a few years ago and we got a Kate Spade Designer Toaster.
Most of the time either get something at Off 5th or got some great deals on a swimsuit for her off season.
Lululemon would be a downgrade

I'm sorry for your loss.

You should probably start a separate thread for your question in the Marriott forum.

I am new to Platinum - I didn’t realize a gift card purchase would trigger the credit. Can I do that online or do I need to go to store? And you are saying the credit also works at purchases made at Off 5th?

You need to go into the store, purchase a 50 gift card and it will trigger the credit. Then you can use that gift card at Saks off 5th. note….buying a gift card at Saks off 5th will not trigger the credit

Online does not work

They will miss all of us Amex Platty people buying their $50 GCs at Saks, if/when this goes away :)!

Stopped by the Chase Sapphire Lounge at PHX to complain to them re the reservation issue & their staff expressed their frustrations with the system as well and told me to pls write a review, as they have apparently been telling their mgmt also & it has gone nowhere...
Sure enough, after I left a subpar review (scan the QR code at the lounge to leave a review), they created a ticket, of which I received an email.
Will see if it improves anything.
Still can't book Sapphire lounge PHX.. (Had called their CS & secure messaged them; deleted then reinstalled app etc but same issue)

They had a nice cooked-to-order BF sandwich + the nice, signature Sapphire mocktail...

Spent some time at the LAS Capital One & Centurion Lounges also.
Cap 1 def much nicer than Centurion at LAS; both concourse D; C1 next to gate D52/Atrium & Amex Centurion next to D1: both are fairly close; in fact Club LAS (PP lounge) is at D33, all 3 are few minutes apart.
C1 overlooks the entire concourse (central area from a high vantage point/Atrium); really nice vibe to the place.
Loved the Poker Face & Golden Hour Mocktails at C1.
Amex Centurion was packed as usual but waitlist came in few minutes (much faster than C1, which was also at capacity).
Was my 1st time waitlisting using Amex app; worked like a charm...

Sometimes I have trouble deciphering the acronyms and initialisms, but a bacon and fungus sandwich does sound good, particularly if it's cooked-to-order!

*Also used the XpressSpa for a nice 30minute complimentary massage with Priority Pass at LAS. Have seen them at many places but never used before. Nice to loosen oneself up, after some travel..

Did not realize the Xpress Spa was with CSR PP (& Citi Prestige but not with Amex Plat or Cap1 PP, fwiw)...
Looks like BoA PRE & Citi Strata Elite PP also include it..
Likely helpful if one has a connection & some extra time...
(+ 2 guests also allowed apparently, with CSR)..

Looks like a similar deal with the 'Be Relax Spa'...

Has anybody used the updated CSR card to pay their maintenance fees? I know it’s 4x on hotels but I’m curious if somehow timeshares also get included in the 4x… or if it’s definitely dropping to 1x

I have Wyndham, Marriott, and vacation village/massanutten

The change doesn’t happen till 10/1.

16 pages in, I'm not sure what the top contenders are. I'm using the IHG Card (3-4.5% back, depending if I spend 20K for the spending incentive, YMMV). The Ink Preferred seems like a decent alternative too.

There's also the Fairwinds Visa Signature card for 5X on travel. My understanding is that the travel portal is clunky, but you can get more than 5% back booking travel there, or by buying travel gift cards such as Airbnb, Hotels.com, and rotating carriers such as Delta. Example, 7,750 points for a $100 Delta gift card.

I think it (unsurprisingly) depends on your spending habits and what other cards you have. After looking at the various options described here (and elsewhere) I've decided for now to keep the CSR, ditch the authorized user (now $195!) when our next AF is due, and use our existing CSR, United Club, Hilton Surpass, or cash back card as applicable. Obviously, YMMV.

Does it work for Guest or just the Primary card hold?

Everyone's needs/spending amt & pattern varies, so no one best answer for everyone....
Many are staying for CSR for another year (as they are paying the lower fee until next year October renewal).
Others are switching to Citi or BoA premium cards, as detailed above.
Some are waiting for upcoming changes to Amex Platinum.
Others plan to open Ritz Carlton card next year (PC from Marriott Boundless) to keep Chase Sapphire lounge access unless that card is nerfed.
Pls feel free to share others.
TY!
