Charleston
(1)The drive is along state highways for most of the way (if you want the shortest distance), unless one wishes to take the interstate in a round-about way. Go to Mapquest.com and type in Charleston, SC and look .
(2) If you are able, take one-two days and see Charleston...it IS a gorgeous city, and you can have a ball seeing some beautiful and historic homes, and the "Battery" area down near the water . There are 2 nice timeshares in the historic district where you can rent by the night! (Lodge Alley Inn & Church Street Inn---both 5-stars. Both are listed in the Interval Int'l catalog.) Just look them up and call the resorts...they will accommodate. Also lots of wonderful B & B's ...... Lots of great shopping on King Street and in the old Slave Market area. And some great, great restaurants...casual or fine-dining. A carriage tour around the city's old beautiful homes and gardens is a must. Did you know that Charleston is in the top 3 cities in the country as "destination of choice", depending on the survey, and some have it as number one???? It's true. OK, Last EASY chance to see Charleston!!!!! jme
